If you have 2 ship weapons, make sure you hit the button to switch between them. I kill things much faster if I alternate by using my beam (which overheats quickly), and then switching to photon torpedos or whatever they're called, and then back again.

I really wish this game would allow you to escape the pirates. Sometimes I'm really not in the mood to fight, and a lot of those fights are really not easy.

@lunchietey: Plus the planet has certain criteria as well, which limits it even further.

I've run into one system that was discovered by another player, but he didn't even land on a single planet.

I've been telling people to hold off on this game until it's fixed. I feel like it's just a foundation, unfortunately.

Plus the PC port is just awful. It's sluggish, doesn't run at native resolution, filled with bugs, and the flight controls for KB&M are terrible (and can't be changed). It looks on-par or worse than the PS4 version, which is pretty unacceptable at this point. The pop-in is also enough to make my eyes hurt. Also, try changing it to Low - you won't notice much different between that and High.

I loved it. It was such a pleasant surprise.

Honestly from the first trailer I appreciated the 80's Spielbergh vibe it was going for but I was almost certain that it would overdo it and not actually be a good show. Man was I wrong. I was into absolutely every plot line they had going. I liked every single character. I loved the way it was shot, the 80's setting, and the soundtrack.

I will probably rewatch this multiple times this year. I'm really worried that they won't be able to top it with a season 2 though.

I love that it's popular, but I really do not like the game itself. I wish it was the same concept but had completely different mechanics. I don't like holding the phone in front of me when I walk around, I wish the battle system was better, and I wish the catching system required a pokemon battle like in the games.

I don't know, I hear it's good. Those trailers pushed me away from it but the reaction from critics makes me reconsider seeing it. Of course the hate crowd is still going strong against it so that makes it hard to see what people actually think. Seems like the consensus is between "Less than okay" to "Good." So maybe it's okay?

I might see it this weekend.

@sravankb: It's not that people "get" that way, it's that those people flock to social media whenever something happens. The cool level-headed people just aren't posting and being as loud as those people.

It's a good idea to never look at social media sites as a representation of the real world. If Reddit was representative of the real world's views then President Ron Paul would be running for his second term against Bernie Sanders.

I'm unintentionally conditioning myself to city-life by moving to more and more populated areas every few years. Honestly for me the biggest fear is the driving, so I'd probably get rid of my car if I moved to a place like SF.

I was a little disappointed in the lack of "reason" for being there, but I respect it nonetheless. I enjoyed my time with it and greatly appreciated the style of it.

I've had the urge to give it a shot, but it's too damn hot here. Waiting for it to not be oven-temperature before I go out. Right now if I sit on my patio for 10 minutes I start to sweat, it's nuts.
