What a crazy year it's been for a fucking From Software game to show up on Jeff Fucking Gerstmann's personal GOTY list. It's also only apt that it gets bumped off to 11th place at the last minute and still show up as a numbered item because it's Jeff Fucking Gerstmann, Editor-in-Chief of Giant Bomb dot com.
I'm more convinced now that had the GBeast crew finished Life is Strange before the deliberations, Austin would have had it in his top 10 and there'd be a good chance of it being a real contender for Vinny and Alex's GOTY. Maybe it doesn't beat Splatoon for Alex, but Vinny's love for adventure games might have been enough for it to top his list.
But yeah, hella awesome for the game to actually be that high on their lists despite not having finished it, especially considering it's a narrative-focused game!
I need to thank you for mentioning 80 Days on your list last year as it's that one write-ups that got me to get the game a couple of days later and have it show up on my top 10 list for 2014, which I also believe was pretty damn good for smaller games! Also, play the latest PC version of 80 Days on Choose Our Own Adventure someday please god. Screw the popular vote! I know you and Alex would be totally on board with that!
Also, I didn't know anyone else who liked, let alone played Dragon Ball Z Legends. That was the only DBZ game that actually felt like DBZ. Maybe I'll get Xenoverse sometime next year when it's on sale and I have time!
I already wanted to get Invisible Inc the first time I saw a video of it on the site, but since I don't have access to a PC, I'll be getting it on PS4.
I hear you on the Fallout 4 love! And it's my first ever Bethesda RPG too!
Him and Jason need to talk more about the series. I guess it's because they tried evangelizing it to Brad and Dan who did give it an honest shot but they still didn't get hooked. So they probably gave up already trying to discuss it with the rest of the crew.
This is one of the biggest reasons why I loom forward to guest lists. Lots of super interesting little games for me to get for free/super cheap on mobile devices and toaster PCs.
I'd love for Drew to see the madness that is Rising's cutscenes.
yes please this would make us all so happy, and i'm counting drew in that scenario as well
until he hits the brick wall that is bladewolf!
also, i know drew mentions that the music is very sonic adventure-y, but i think he'll very much enjoy the soundtrack to this game, especially with how the vocals kick in during key moments!
"But are a number of factors that may have made King an attractive purchase for Activision."
Should be a "there" in between "But" and "are".
"There were 474 million active users in the third quarter of 2015, which is more people than use Twitter."
"than" should be "that"
"It's not not an uncommon tactic..."
One too many "nots".
Giant Bomb has never really been the gaming site that breaks the news. No need to rush out this article!
Good points raised all around anyway! You people poo-pooing Activision Blizzard's shrewd tax moves obviously don't understand this is how capitalism incentivizes hard work!
