So we had Austin, Taker, HBK, Flair, AND A SHIELD REUNION and still wound up with a middling show. Rusev was in a match and didn't job, so I guess he's out of the doghouse. Moreover, BARRETT ACTUALLY WON and Owens looked strong. Seth also GOT A WIN against Ryback, and didn't even need to cheat to beat an IC-level guy. Owens vs. Henry was the most fun thing on the show by leaps and bounds - Henry went up high for the powerbomb, which was amazing, and these guys need to just feud forever.

The opening Sting promo was one of the worst of the year in terms of its message. HHH IS THE KING OF KINGS, STING IS GRATEFUL FOR HAVING HIS ASS BEATEN AND THEN HAVING HIS HAND SHAKEN, and oh yeah, the WWE Champion isn't half the man HHH is. Dolph and Rusev had a nothing match that peaked with the post-match upskirt of Lana. Dolph took a shower and Summer invaded the room - so Dolph apparently just doesn't care about folks walking in on him showering. Divas revolution bullshit with this beat the clock challenge. It BEGAN with a 3:21 match, so this revolution is worth about 10 minutes of airtime on this 3+ long hour show. Becky won.

Braun-Dean wasn't much, while Cesaro-Owens was good, it was hurt by the commentary just not caring about it at all and not feeling special. Everything with the Dolph-Lana stuff sucked, as she's angry over him...clearly being set up by the heels and looks like an idiot. Speaking of which, Paige lost the BTC challenge when she should've won by DQ. Dudleys had a super-fun match with New Day, and then Seth was put in his place by Steph. Beyond just being completely responsible for the women's revolution, she'll be responsible for whipping him into shape. And she made Cena-Seth for the U.S. Title - so Seth, the heel, is defending his title against the odds and WWE is outright copying ROH's Jay Lethal run - well, it's a good idea, so why not.

Thank God for the Wednesday four hour block of (mostly) greatness now...five counting NXT if you watch it that day.

To recap today's events so far, Lucha Underground has signed some sort of a new deal with Univision.

ROH is coming to Destination America as a lead-in for Impact. Presently, it will just be tapes of their existing shows that are in the can.

TNA had a press tour scheduled and canceled it, but they have a company-wide conference call soon.

After that, there's Wrestling Observer Live with Bryan Alvarez and Mike Sempervive to go over today's events, and then Dave Metlzer and Bryan Alvarez will be covering the events with some breaking news audio.

ROH-DA deal has been in the works for months.

ROH show will be the previous week's show airing on DA.

DA likes the viewership that wrestling gets, but isn't happy with the ad rates that TNA gets them.

ROH's deal time isn't fully known, but it's believed to be until the end of the year.

ROH is happy with the deal because this lets them expand the reach of the ROH deal beyond Sinclair markets.

ROH feels like they won't be able to use Joe - but WWE hasn't told them anything yet. They have a plan to use him or to not use him.

DA has no say in ROH's creative direction.

Bryan's heard things about TNA and DA in the past, but wasn't really sure about them until today...and they may or may not involve "certain e-mails".

Thanks to this deal, NJPW gets to be on both AXS TV and Destination America.

ROH is officially the number 2 promotion in the US between DA and their syndication deals.

Lucha Underground had yet another great week

Mundo's heel turn was a pleasant surprise, and given that his character is one that is full of himself, it fits him perfectly. I loved Dario not only drinking and smiling, but casually removing debris from his line of sight.

Impact thoughts -

The opening clusterfuck opening 6-man was a thing. Al Snow's wacky jackets making a comeback amused me. Ken-EC3 thing was a lot of fun. Spud losing the title sucks, but at least they had a really good and fairly safe ladder match. Plus, it led to Spud cutting a fantastic promo in the back. Taryn-Brooke was a fine booty-shorts war. Drew vs. Ki was good-ish, but would've been better without the pipe stip. EVERYTHING WITH THIS STORM-MAGNUS-MICKIE FEUD IS AMAZING.

I assume it will be paid off at Slammiversary with Mickie saying "she'll stand by her man" and then picking Storm, or not. Either way, any result works out given how they've built this up. The stretcher match main event took a while to get going, but after the break, was a really good match. It reminded me a lot of the Hart-Michaels ladder match where it was this technically good match that involved a prop, but the prop was a storytelling device instead of just a thing to do stuff off of or onto. They didn't even do an Angle slam onto it - the stretcher was just there for a finish tease and the finish and the match was better for it.
