Thanks for posting this Rorie, really interesting video that went under my radar. Carmacks criticism is why people pay attention when he gets excited\praises certain technologies. Wish more tech companies had folks this honest/blunt.

Some from the top of my head are Swap Sword, the Hidden My Game by Mom games, Holedown, Spelltower, Typeshift, Canabalt, Ridiculous Fishing, Super Hexagon, Reigns, Pacman 256, Hundreds, and Pancake - the game. I played these on IOS but I assume most are on Android. Apologies for the length of the list, just started listing them off lol

@humanity: I’m happy we’re getting some Quick Looks again but yeah thats a totally fair criticism regarding the value proposition tbf.

I think repurposing UPF segments for certain Quick Looks is a smart solution tbh. Ultimately I want to see some gameplay and hear the Duders opinions so I like it and hope they do this more.

I really appreciated Quick Looks over the years, they helped me pick up a lot of games I wouldn’t have otherwise (and avoid others lol.). I would also love developer interviews like Minnmax and Kinda Funny. I don’t know the metrics of these videos except Youtube and they didn’t seem to be that popular so it’s understandable that changes are being made even if I would love more of this type of content. I loved the Random Steam games streams also. I love UPFs but since I’m not a big podcast guy I unsubscribed. However, due to how much fun GB has given me over the years I’m always going to try their new shows (really appreciate the first eps being free). I like that the shows are seasonal as it means it would only take 1 new show I like, UPFs and the occasional Quick Look for me to sign up again. I would like more gameplay related shows like a lot of people have said but the short runs of these shows mean that in a few months they could be doing exactly that. I like that theyre getting weird with it right now because theyll learn a lot.

The fact that so many of the new shows are just glorified podcasts is a little disheartening. I do think Guilty Treasues was really good but was deliberating whether to sign up for Premium after the free trial ended last week and these shows have made up my mind. Albummer was really dreadful imo.
