Install everything to the hard drive when possible. If you don't have the luxury of hard drive space, throw on some headphones. If you don't have headphones, get humming.

As for acquiring the original version, I entered Thexder into a p2p site and there was a classic games collection that popped up, albeit it was for MacOSX... but if you're persistent at it, you'll find a PC version.
And get DOSBox, you'll need it to play old PC games.
360 stands alone. But my older systems are stacked. The base is the mighty modded-Xbox, the meat of the sandwich is the PS2, the cherry on top is the Gamecube.
I'm more a fan of the beat, groove, & engineering/mixing of a song rather than the lyrics, but if there's one song where I paid attention, related, & laughed to the lyrics, it was Del Tha Funkee Homosapien's Protoculture. It's an amazing homage to classic gaming, imports, game mags, the fkn power glove, etc etc etc. It also samples Morrigan's stage from Darkstalkers.
