I used to live & die by Metacritic scores. Then I played Lost Odyssey... which had a mediocre meta score of 78. Love it or loathe it, I had a blast playing it & found myself enjoying it more than some of the 90+ meta score games. I've learned to not put so much faith in reviews as we & the reviewers all have different palettes although here & there I still find myself influenced by reviews.. i.e. I've never given Call of Duty : World at War a fighting chance.
I worked at a Mcdonalds for 6 months when I was 19, as a punishment for dicking around in college. The pay was right above minimum wage but all in all, it was alright. The worst thing about it, is that you will get people who expect a 3 Michelin Star experience.
One moment that sticks out in my mind is when a lady rudely asked me to cut her burger into 4 pieces. I refused to bow to such a frivolous request, so I promptly handed her a knife. 45 mins later, I'm getting a "customer's always right" talk from a manager because said lady complained to McDonalds corporate. But damn it Jim, it was worth it. And people will try to blame you for shit just to get free food... as I was accused of taking a bite size nibble out of a burger patty. In today's murky global economy, get what you can.
I think the problem with going by the # of posts / wiki edits a person does is that it might backfire. With worthless wiki-updates, crappy posts consisting of "LOL", etc...
As a massive fan of Konami's Beatmania series, I will definitely be getting this. Lots of original music and now some French filter-house goodness added.

Ideally, what does the OP want GB or the community to do? Have GB pull every ER offline? Start flagging people for quoting things? Or maybe have the entire GB forum community "shape up" after reading 1 person's opinion on things? Instead of being abrasive, let's be realistic.

Nope. Innovative games like this seem to never be big sellers. And in the end, that's what killed this series. Critically acclaimed but most people just didn't get it.
Sega really should put a HD Remix version of the first 2 Shenmue's out... or make the 3rd with an episodic type deal like the Sam & Max / Penny Arcade stuff to minimize the risk in case it tanks again.
I have a feeling that Shenmue will make a next-gen return at some point.
