Even if she was doing a supposedly "bad job" at GOTY-ing (she isn't) remember 1. this is hers (and Ben and Jan's) first time doing this, and 2. it wasn't exactly her job description to be an on camera entertainer and editor. At the very least go easy on her (though I think she's doing fine despite her not really being required to do this in any way shape or form). Bless his heart, but at least she doesn't seem to give up on her personal faves right away like Alex seems to.

@kishinfoulux: I wouldn't say that it is destiny hate. I spent a great deal of time playing destiny this year and it was a fun game and looks good. My issue with it being in the top of this category is that the difference between destiny 1 and destiny 2 is almost non-existent. You can disagree and that's fine but Uncharted 4 is a better looking game than Destiny 1 or 2 (again, in my opinion) and the Lost legacy was DQ from this category because it looked too much like Unharted 4. So for me its favoritism to Destiny when I would argue that the differences between the Uncharted games is more noticeable (and they're overall better looking) than the Destiny games.
From your posts it's very clear you're a Destiny Fanboy/girl so I don't expect you too see it this way, but I figured I'd give it a shot anyway.

And because I defend Destiny against the usual brigade of haters I'm a fanboy? Hurray for assumptions. Pyre in no way deserved to be in that top three. Hell if anything got robbed it was fucking Battlefront, but there continues to be a bias against "technical" powerhouses.
It feels like the line between Best Style/Best Looking has become really blurred. Based on some of their arguments and points it seems like Pyre/Cuphead/Persona 5 could be contenders in either category. Also Horizon looks incredible in 4k HDR I dno how one could argue that Destiny 2 even comes close.
Because on PC playing it at ultrawide at 1440p and like 100FPS is fucking amazing looking.
Really hated how Brad railroaded Destiny 2 in there. If all it takes to get something on the list is to threaten to bitch and moan until you get your way, then there isn't much value to this list.

The Destiny hate is silly, but it always has been. That game has a lot of problems, but the visual style sure as shit ain't one.

Star Wars movies are just meant to be fun. This shit isn't Oscar bait and never really has been. They have an interesting universe they've created and the movies are used to explore that with flash and spectacle. Sometimes they take some bigger swings with narrative, like the Vader/Luke moment at the end of Empire, but they mostly play it safe. With Disney holding the reigns that's even more true. The Force Awakens was basically the story beats of A New Hope. Turns out I don't care. It was fun to watch and the new characters are interesting enough that I'm willing to see where they go next. I feel the same way about many of the Marvel movies. And isn't that good enough for some movies? Do people really need every single film to be some cinematic masterpiece? God forbid you ever have kids and need to watch -gasp- children's movies.
I dunno. People can like and dislike whatever they want. I'm not saying you have to like Star Wars because it is "fun", but it seems weird to me that there's this expectation that The Last Jedi needs to be anything more than a fun watch.

I'm all about this mentality....usually. This movie is just a big disappointment. There isn't much fun to be had. TFA and Rogue one had that. This doesn't.
Complaining about "Dan" content is silly. How many great features has he brought us since joining this site? Could you imagine it without him? They've all mostly been great.
This game is a perfect example of systems, on top of systems, on top of systems, etc. You don't need all this bullshit. It's just padding for the sake of doing it. It's meant to create the illusion of so much to do and engage with, but in reality it just burns me the fuck out.
