what a wast of time for something that is meaningless. D3 will reset you progress again.... so many other good games could have been played and showed on the site.
Why play any game? Your progress doesn't carry over to another game. Maybe because it's fun?
Too bad that most of the people seem super down on destiny after finishing it. "Time to uninstall and never play again". Really? I guess to each his/her own, I don't blame them after that lengthy attempt. Half the fun of raiding is perfecting the run, though. It definitely isn't for anyone. D2 probably gonna get the shaft hard during GOTY talks.
It was a lot of hours for them in a short time so they just got burned out a little, on top of already playing the game a ton before that. I know it sounds like they hate the game now, but they're still mostly positive on it and even mentioned they are still looking forward to whatever new stuff comes.
I think Brad's idea of holding off on the underbelly stuff until after Calus was insane. When you're new, figuring out that there's this big labyrinth underneath the raid and exploring it is half the fun, and is an amazingly good way to cool down between boss rooms, and it keeps you from repeating that awful staff grabbing thing 3 more times.
He hid a huge part of the raid from them for no reason, one they would have 100% explored had he not been holding their hands.
And they were so frustrated at the end that they couldn't finish the simple objective of "quickly sneak into position and shoot these 4 robots that die to some basic heavy attacks almost instantly."
My raid, and I assume most peoples' raids, involved finishing the first challenge, exploring the underbelly, figuring out that keys are based on certain areas, finding that area (and thus mapping the underbelly a little at a time in our heads and not being intimidated by it like Brad) and figuring out how to get to the chest. Then we all got a little more loot and were well recovered to try the next challenge.
Brad intentionally disrupted that flow to try to do it all at the end which I think was a terrible idea. It made the raid less pleasant and funneled them into doing nothing but the challenges for the entire duration with very little inbetween, which for an 8 hour stream is nuts. The longest my groups went on was for MAYBE 6 hours, and a ton of that was spent exploring the underbelly, which is a lot of fun when you're not frustrated and pissed off after failing for almost an entire workday.
He was clearly just trying to make it more efficient (I guess? People could get good loot from those chests.) and doesn't seem to like the underbelly himself, but I think it was totally the wrong call and made the raid a slog to both play and watch.
Brad, buddy, let this stuff be a little more organic! I know since you guys are doing a show you think we just want to see "action" constantly, but watching you guys figure out something besides the same fight for 4+ hours would be much more enjoyable.
In fact, I think Brad doing the raid before everyone else was also a huge mistake. He "had" to do it for the review (Do reviews even do much for GB anymore? Did they ever?) but man, it would've been so much better if they just went 100% blind and sought help from chat if they really got stuck.
You are REALLY making a big deal about the underbelly. Brad was the MVP of this thing. Providing cryptic hints and just cackling when they realized something. If none of them knew what to do they'd probably still be on the first encounter. It was better this way.
And you realize chat would've just outright spoiled everything right? That solution is no better. He was always fine letting them figure things out. It was when people rushed and got antsy (usually Alex) that he relented and told them.
Unrelated and I said this on the first video, but I'm still seeing a lot of wrong weapon usage. Red bars = Kinetic, Shielded = Energy, Yellow Bars = Power. I keep seeing people using Kinetics on Yellow Bars and stuff like that. It's something somewhat small, but would make life easier.
Did you skip UPF to play this horrible game? How horrible. Is this replacing UPF?
Yes. Friday nights are now Destiny raid nights from now on.
I wish.
This so much. UPF is super boring. Shit I'd love to watch them raid Destiny, or any game for that matter, instead. It's really fun watching them brainstorm and try things.
Brad's "Are you sure?" was great, during the Beast Phase. Also still watching, but why didn't they just traverse the rocks to stay above ground, while sneaking around looking for flowers?
Oh man the dog getting stuck in the safe room, with them, was fucking hilarious.
They need to give up on the idea of going in blind and not knowing the strategy for the fights. Figuring out the mechanics isn't that interesting anyway and I've always found that executing has always been the most fun of part of raiding (at least in WoW)
Disagree entirely. Them figuring the mechanics out was the most enjoyable thing. The parts when it came down to execution was the least interesting, because at that point it's just constant wiping until they nailed it.
