Man, the food choices of some of the staff are awful!
I feel like Abby is always so hateful towards the community, for whatever reason that is.
Being a woman on the internet and also in games is not easy.
For example, take a look at the people who regularly tweet at her telling her to quit Giant Bomb or tweeting directly at Jeff trying to get her fired. Or like any comments section under any video she's prominently featured in.
If that were me I wouldn't be so quick to engage with the community either.
Man... do people do that?? What kind of an idiot do you have to be to do that?
I did find her comments on this video a bit jarring, but like 99% of the time she's a cool voice to have on the site...
Is nobody else a bit ho-hum on the art style? I wish Samus was a bit smaller like she was in the GBA games... I think really I just want more of that...
@jamesm: 100% the guys accent is a generic northern (lancarshire/yorkshire/derbyshire type) one.
It makes me laugh how the GB guys put any British regional accent down as Cockney when they sound nothing like Cockney (which isn't even really a thing outside of certain parts of the East End anyway). If anyone is interested, most youths in and around London now talk (if they have a non RP accent) with a mix of cockney, estuary English, and west-Indian inspired lingo.
If you weren't born in certain working-class boroughs of East London then you don't speak Cockney!
EDIT: Although to be fair this guys accent is all over the place. The character is probably written to be some northern ex SAS or something, but the actor's natural accent keeps popping through!
@thatpinguino: Oh yeah for sure! I've certainly played that card (even as an adult). I feel depressed every time I do it, but gaming always gave such an easy get out of jail card when it came to avoiding potentially awkward social situations. It was so much easier to go upstairs, put on a game and ignore the outside world and just wait for that moment when it literally was too late to go out and only then apologise to people who were expecting me. Sad times...
