It's not a horrible experience. I honestly think if people think this game is legit awful, they need to have their head examined.
I think if this were the first or even second installment in the series it would be a lot easier to overlook to the game's shortcomings and admire it's ambitions. Its when you start to compare it to the previous games( 2 and Brotherhood ) which were much more cohesive and far less frustrating, that 3 starts to become really disappointing.
I plan on Purchasing them in the same order I did this generation:
Microsoft
Nintendo
Sony
Although If Sony decides to to release their console at a reasonable price this time, or if Microsoft decides no to, that could definitely rearrange the oder of things.
This was the exact tweet that pissed me off pretty bad. Sometimes reactions that are not based on sex (thinking leigh can be all of the above things she mentioned) get pinned as sexism.
Her argument is invalid because everyone loves drunken Karen Snider.
To be fair, I think Karen might get somewhat of a pass because she's related to someone that folks around here are incredibly fond of. If Leigh Alexander were Leigh Caravella, I bet there would have been a distinctly less venomous response to her Bombcast appearances. But yeah, she was annoying.
So much of the game feels like running to a waypoint, having the screen flash white, and watching a cutscene - instead of actual gameplay.
I've noticed this a little less since playing as full blown Connor, but it happens damn near constantly at the outset. I guess the alternative is having hour long, Kojima style cut scenes?
I've been asking myself the same question throughout my play through. AC2 was one of my favorite games of this generation, but they implemented some poor mission types in Brotherhood that have carried over to the last two installments of the series. Namely, the stealth missions where you automatically fail when you're seen. Even outside of that mission type there's seems to be a lot of trial and error here.
