I totally understand where Dan is coming from here. Because to a lot of people before 2016, politics was the boring talking heads on TV. It's the day you show up to every few years to tick the box for the guy you think is the most likeable. Of course everyone here is clever, and knows the definition of politics encompasses more than boring election bullshit, but you're not the average person on the street, you're someone commenting about politics in games on an enthusiast website.
So to someone like Dan, who has one conception of politics, who then plays a game with things like nuclear weapons and special forces soldiers and cool, exciting things like that, I can totally understand why he would say something like "IT'S ABOUT WAR NOT POLITICS".
- Don't bother with probing any planet that's not rich
- Each weapon has different strengths and weaknesses vs. enemy defenses. But generally, SMGs and Shotguns are good against shields and barriers, Heavy Pistols and Sniper Rifles are good against armour, and Assault Rifles are average all around.
- Keep using your powers! Unlike Mass Effect 1, powers in ME2 share the same cooldown. So you should be spamming powers non-stop otherwise you're losing out on damage. You can cast powers pretty much every 6 seconds on average for most powers, so keep using them all the time.
- Tech armour (the main power on Y) is amazing. It increases your max shields and when it gets taken down, you deal AOE damage and knockdown to nearby enemies.
- Warp does bonus damage against armour and barriers, great against bosses or armoured footsoliders.
- Enemies with active shields, barriers, or armour won't be ragdolled by powers like Throw, they'll only get staggered. Once they're down to health you can use Throw and they'll be tossed like normal.
I strongly disagree with everyone here who doesn't like the Jackbox games, all the downtime is worth it so we can hear more of the amazing rap skills of the crew.
The message to everyone who loves video games from GiantBomb is to always expect an experience with lots of fun and don't ever want something different. Playing a game where you might not do something meaningful for 5 minutes? What a travesty!! Playing a game where you might not have fun all the time or ever because the game is not interested in entertaining you? What the hell!
Gamers have spoken. We like our video games because they are toys. We want every game to hold our hands and we never ever ever want to do something mundane (which could lead to character building or world building) for more than 5 minutes. We just want games where you are gratified every second of every minute. Don't ever give us anything different.
We are children and we never want to grow up. How dare some games trying to give us something different. How freaking dare they!!! We only accept mindless shooters or platformers with minimal stories.
