omg the set is so much more interesting with the old couch. i've been itching for that brick wall, taped together feeling of the old shows. GBwest and east were starting to look like 2004 G4 tech tv ikea sets. love the flavour boys. remember your roots and slough off the tech bro aesthetic :)
i think it's chill that they're still doing this event. i think the internet has changed a lot since the early days of "the duders" and there is a tremendous amount more video and live-streaming content on the site now. all of that takes a lot of effort which takes a lot out of a person. i appreciate the giant bomb gang for all that they do, though i did expect a "newby stream" with abby and ben for this year's extra life as a bit of a hazing. that being said, these are human beings and if they didn't want to wreck themselves for laughs then that's cool too :)
True, and thats the giant bomb i love. every other site can be a buyers guide, the duders and ladies of giant bomb and their orbiting contributors offer so much more depth of coverage without being tied to a particular "take" on the industry. I'm a big fan of polygon and waypoint as well but at a certain point with those sites it's like why have so many editors if you all have the exact same 'voice?'
As a person who preordered PS VR I was notably worried by the performance of the device during both streams but was thrilled to find that I had none of those issues in my home when it finally arrived.
It's a total bummer that anyone would have an experience as inconsistent as what the duders had during the 2 streams but alas that's first gen tech for you I suppose.
Happy to report that the device feels like fully functional *real* VR in my home set up. Friends have come over and had the same great experiences I've had with little to no set up time to ensure the device tracks properly.
I am curious to hear what other home users are reporting in terms of these issues because watching these streams made it seem catastrophic yet I have not had to wrestle with it at all.
Thanks so much to the duders for getting up early and doing such thorough coverage of the games. Being able to get a real sense of what a game has to offer is the reason I keep coming back to Giant Bomb everyday, and despite their technical hurdles I felt like the coverage here was truly informative for someone brand new to VR. Especially since I have been eager to try VR since the days when Oculus required duct tape and a ski mask for proper assembly ;)
