Playing the game, I thought a lot near the end "It seems as if this puzzle was intended to be not fun and annoying. If only Blow cared about the player experience."

To hear him speak to this, in this video, was enlightening. It doesn't change my opinion of the game, but it's good to know he is aware of this and its intentional. I guess what he finds "interesting" won't align with what everyone else find "interesting" (I'm speaking specifically about the puzzles in the mountain, color elevator and some of the sound jungle).

Oh, I just thought of another one and this is actually really, really good. It'd be perfect as it balances dated absurdity with actually good storytelling (for the most part): Sanitarium

If Vinny doesn't already, I bet he'd genuinely love it. Awesome overlooked 90s adventure game.

A humble proposal to GBEast:

Harvester. I would pay extra money for a Harvester series. Makes Phantasmagoria 2 look like Monkey Island. And holy shit, for all the surprisingly competent treatment of homosexuality in this game, Harvester takes the absolute opposite route.

It's so subversive and cynical about American culture, that I give it the benefit of the doubt that it's making fun of stereotypes of homosexuality rather than displaying stereotypes to make fun of homosexuality. Nothing in that game can be taken at face value. That said, it could have been handled much better. But I'm a fan boy. It's one of my favorite games.

Harvester, Darkseed 2, Burn: Cycle, and Hell: A Cyberpunk Adventure would all make for excellent future GBE Playdates. Hope you guys do more crazy FMV games. This one was a hoot!

Can't believe people took all the time to quarantine everyone. I ignored it, played the missions, and it didn't really matter at all. Maybe someone can point out the difference it makes, but if I had to do it again I'd definitely ignore it, because playing the game is more fun than messing with the cumbersome menus.

It's strange to me that people are focusing on the wrong issue instead of what matters to SXSW and should matter to the general public: safety.

SXSW's decision to cancel these panels isn't due to content, which they accepted (both feature outspoken GG and anti-GG members in panels that make no claim to discuss GamerGate), but rather the controversy and threats that followed.

These threats probably aren't credible, but SXSW must still treat them as they are. They can either commit, accept risk and bolster security, or run away from this trash fire. SXSWi (not to mention gaming which is a joke) is far from the main draw, compared to film and music. So, I wouldn't be surprised if the higher-ups looked at the drama and said "screw this. pull the plug or you're fire" I get why people are upset but I think SXSW did the right thing, in service of the general public's safety and being fair to other panels/attendees. There are plenty of other venues to host controversial panels that will receive threats without the venue shutting them down -- and these venues/panels have happened several times this year.

It's an unfortunate situation but the only people to be mad at should be those making anonymous threats online and our broken system that doesn't prevent those from happening.

@seastark: Pretty sure Miller gives this to you as a LB hint so hardly a spoiler.

Also Dan telling him he can use lethal weapons is kind of a non-spoiler spoiler since if you played the game knowing nothing, as I did, you would naturally use lethal against Quiet like any other boss character in MGS. Only reason I think people use non-lethal is because they already know she's a buddy that can be captured.

I finally figured out the scheduling of the series: they shoot episodes Friday and Monday and upload them Sunday and Wednesday. It's a lot closer from recording to posting then I though, which means potential content gaps in the future.
