Hmmmm. Well I agree the framerate is better on PC, it almost looks like it's on fast forward? Anyone else notice this? Like someone turned on 1.2x speed?
Also, I wish Dan had shown off some story stuff. Not because I think the story is any good. Quite the opposite. It's that's the cutscenes look horrendous!! Remind me of the PS2 era.
Oh man, hearing the negativity for RDR2 is too much for me. I get it. Trust me. The game isnt the greatest to play. But it's just such an opposite view from mine. I think this game is one of the best games ever. So emotional. I can't believe how they messed up the music montages. I was so into the music. I feel like Dan and Ben just didn't want to get into it. I find myself YouTubeing the soundtrack just to hear that music.
I may not be able to listen GOTY this year. Damn. Jeff's hate may be too strong and 4 hours isn't enough to saying anything definitive about this game. Dan, I can get. He played 90%of the game. Jeff, I don't think should be arguing one way another for this game.
I'm pretty much in the opposite boat of Dan. Wasn't in love with RDR2, but over time, i liked it more and more and now love it. It's a damn masterpiece. And that's not hyperbole. I don't call many things in life masterpieces. The story alone along with the writing, the characters and the pace, are the best Rockstar has given us and that's already a high bar compared to other games.
That being said... I don't think the game is fun to play. This year, I'd rather play Odyssey. Much more enjoyed that. So I can see where Dan is coming from. I'm curious as to what part of the story he's at. Cause if he's in chapter 5, there's so much more. If he's completed chapter 6, then that's interesting he doesn't like it, without spoiling much, the game flows in the first game very nicely.
Woah. High praise from Alex for a Rockstar/Howser game and story? That's a high bar. If it impressed him, I'll no doubt enjoy this game. Great review, Alex.
