@toxicantidote: yupp. Series became very good. All three of them learned to play with a little more strategy and forethought. Vinny was still controlling but it was necessary because each commander played for less than hour mostly every few weeks.
That was incredible. Echoing all the thoughts that others said.
Now... All that being said, I for one thing think many of us need to check ourselves for how much we doubted this crew would get anywhere near the end let alone beat it. Those early episodes, it seemed the comments were nothing but "do this or research that or with no x building you guys are gonna fail. The aliens will win"
Clearly the beast crew just proved all the naysayers wrong. Congratulations to them. Great series. Holy crap, I can't believe it lasted for a year.
Hmmmm. Hey. I love Alex. But I really love Mass Effect... And I don't think I could watch him go through my favourite series. Especially the first one which I consider to be the best. It feels like I'll nitpick his thoughts/problems with the game. Even though I know the first game has a lot of problems specifically technical.
It's one of those things where I can't watch someone play a favourite game of mine.
@louierivers: exactly the same sentiment for me too. Didn't actually know the guy but man, his death really hit me. Miss him. Says a lot about a guy who was able to make us, essentially strangers, really care about him.
Good lord, 5 years huh? Fuck, Ryan Davis. Miss you man. This site has really grown though. You'd be proud. Still the best damn site on the internet. RIP buddy.
There is something refreshing about about watching Dan play. He knows what he wants and doesn't second guess himself. The other commanders listen to a little too much to Vinny and take a painstakingly amount of time making decisions.
Obviously that's the right way to play a strategy game... But still. Dan's style is fun to watch. Consequences be damned.
That was a fantastic series! Hope they pick another game up not to far down the line. Really enjoy watching these games.
Also,Vinny is definitely the most improved player. In the beginning he seemed like he was dragging Dan down. (Obviously it seemed that way then we learned how overpowered Brownie is)
But Vinny really got a lot better. Especially how far he went in this one when 5k was on the line.
