I stapled my finger once with a staple gun. It was like this one compared to the usual fare . I wasn't strong enough to use one hand to clamp it, so I held my other hand against the front of it. Turns out I was holding it upside down and didn't see that big arrow that tells you where the staple is coming out of.

@sinusoidal: I had no idea there was a dark theme. Thanks!

Man, Resident Evil is getting a lot of play in this thread. And it's gonna get more, because RE2 also scared the proverbial pants off me! My cousin was playing his Playstation, and being a budding gamer whose only PS1 experience was the Pizza Hut demo disk that the church had, I fervently wanted to watch. All I remember seeing was the moment when the gun shop owner gets swarmed by zombies that crash through the window. That image stuck in my mind for years. And of course, now it's really tame.

@zolroyce: The ratio of dead or alive people who write diaries in games is heavily weighed towards the dead. If you want to make it out of a hostile environment, don't leave notes around for the next adventurer to find on your corpse. Although maybe they died because they were too busy writing these notes instead of trying not to die.

@zebasteroid: I agree with this. I've been replaying Oblivion and love the books and other little bits of lore, but most of the time when I'm actually talking to people I just skip through the dialogue. There's exceptions like Sheogorath and the DB stuff but most NPCs I'd rather be getting on my way.

Sort of? I've only 100% a few games ( 2 DW Gundams, Fallout 3,4,NV) and for the most part have never gone back to them. Part of me thinks there's nothing left to earn in the game, so it becomes less of an experience and more of a virtual skinner box. That's mostly my fault and probably something I could just willfully ignore but it's difficult. Some vestigial part of me when racing for achievements against friends on the 360 still makes me play games under a sense of "I should be completing something".
