@rorie horsey events are a thing because cavalry was still a thing when the Olympics were revived. This was so much a thing that the Swedish 1948 dressage team was disqualified because the rules required competitors be officers & gentlemen only. They changed the rules after that.
In the middle ages the church discouraged bathing. Public baths were generally considered seedy, often where prostitutes solicited. A couple of other things to remember this is when soap was created in Europe. Also bathing is a lot more effort than washing yourself with warm water, soap, and a rag.
@vinny this is just D20/DnD 3.5 rules. It is why the combat is really weird, it has initiative order and rounds, but just pretends it is in realtime. Then it has to correct to make things fit the dice rolls in the background. It is funny how you can really see some of the Mass Effect in there.
I feel that I should mention that skills are either class skills or not class skills, so you don't usually spread skill points out like in more modern games. Skill points are a straight up bonuses to the skill check.
Are you going to try 13 runs in a rogue-like after rogue? I'm mostly thinking more of the old ascii ones, I would like to see Ben playing Moria, Nethack, or Angband.
@brad: Playing so infrequently doesn't help, I learnt where things were reasonably quickly. I started playing after about episode 3, and a couple of weeks later I was in full backseat gamer mode... I really enjoyed it.
As a side note the circle when digging turns blue to show how much soil is in your soil canisters.
You should research the Medium Rover, and Drill Strength 1. Using the Chemistry Lab you can make all the things you need. Then you can make a power train to power up the teleporter.
Also the C, and V keys do various thing depending on the context. For the terrain tool, they cycle through the different modes (dig, flatten...). They turn things on and off on your left and right shoulders, which makes the horns more fun. You can also use them like that in vehicles too.
Just so you know, you can dig out the busted platforms at your forward base. They have a single cable so you can connect a few to the working platforms you brought down.
