@dijidiji: Oh I would totally rather just plunk down my $60 bucks and have a game that is mine, complete, back to front. Just, for me, the gacha elements don't preclude me enjoying what is otherwise a pretty good value proposition. I've had no urge to pay anything, which as you said, is particular to each individual, but I've got a lot of good content for the low, low price of zero dollars.
I just don't see what everyone's complaining about.
It's stylized guys. Night and day changes without a pattern. It changes camera distance from the player sometimes at certain points -- moving back at certain vistas for instance -- and will sometimes change the time of day so as to make the visuals more striking. It is always heavily saturated. I find it effective, never disruptive.
As for the gameplay, I believe Jeff has said enough. But it's one of the best I've played in years.
