I don't see how this awards show for video games is any different from the usual mentality of the Tech Sector's (private sector's) parties and conventions. E3 and even your own "Big Big Live Show" (or what ever it's called) are no less "debauched," unless... it's because its not exclusive to your community, thus "not better" than your (the private sector's) own version of "self celebration." This article is only an example of how "out of touch" the wealthy (or privileged/gainfully employed) increasingly are, with us struggling regulars, with the 1% worrying about how it is depicted. Our tea bagging is better than the kind that Spike TV slapped together, for us. What I find interesting is that business goes on as usual in, uh... so-called "enlightened" areas like San Francisco. But we all know 4chan, adbusters and Anonymous and so forth are "buddies" looking to solidify the increasing class(/social caste) gap through trite efforts to destabilize (/or annoy rather) Western Civilization. There's nothing to see here. See you all at PAX!

(two cents spent).

I will think of this article when E3 and booth babes come around. This award show doesn't reflect the tech sector, or private sector "at all," no sir.

Well that's cool, it's just a GameStop branded tablet. Kinda like those cheap controllers they sell.

I'd much prefer web-browser-TF2-item-crafting and drops for item management, like during a glance at one's TF2-backpack (so that technically: you're still playing the game even though an instance of it isn't actively running, even in the background), and/or web-browser-replay-management (recording, editing and saving) to trading, but it's a start.

edit: (so that you could do crafting and video editing, from... like an iPad. That would be awesome)

edit, edit: ...Because you have to "drop everything" to do either while playing TF2 too, since Valve has the omni-present warning about the mortality of your unedited and "unsaved" videos hovering above your replay collection.

The indignity of shopping at GameStop is thwarted by Steam and digital distribution. The recent Steam Summer Camp "sale" was a perfect example of this. Games, including those like Super Street Fighter IV AE were available for "download" at slashed prices... No one will pay for premium ever again!!!! My next console is an affordable PC Laptop (after I upgrade to a newer Mac Book Pro, iPad and iPhone). Digital distribution lays waste to the oppressive chains of bulky consoles and soul sucking chain stores! Free at last!

(edit:) Also, on the developer side Smart Phone gaming opens doors to smaller garage style games (like it has been doing). This is a revolution! Just like when Pac-Man was being presented to Atari for the first time. It's just like the early 80's, all over again. Never underestimate the little guy! Viva la resistance!!!!

God Loves Me! Bonk's Adventure may not hold up well today, but Bonk's Revenge is as tight as a modern GBA game.
