So the hubby finally checked out GB sorta...

So last week, I was browsing GB on my way home, and noticed on the front page there was a video for Shogun 2: Total War.  I couldn't get the video to load on my phone, but tucked that nugget of info away for later cause I knew the hubby would be interested.  So I get home that day, tell the hubby about the video.  Sure enough, he's interested.  I show him some other interesting things on the site that he also digs.  But what does his eye catch?  My experience bar in the upper right corner.  He can't believe there's an experience bar.  So I show him the quests.  He facepalms at me.  I show him the achievement tracking, which he thought was cool.  But he goes back to facepalming at me questing on a website.

Well pffffft to him.  Not like he's much better for staying up till 7am playing Black Ops.  I don't care how close he is to prestiging for a third time.

But anyway I think he doesn't think GB is pretty cool.  Will he become a regular here?  Nah.  Totally unlikely.  He might come here for occasional reviews and videos though.  We'll see.

Was he facepalming at the achievements on giantbomb or facepalming that you have completed so few of them? Only level 18? Try harder ;)

He's obviously pretending. Giant Bomb is like a mermaid. Once you see it, you can't resist it's siren call.

LOL!  @Sweep: He was facepalming at the achievements, or rather at what he views as my need to complete silly timesink things (he feels the same way about my pet and mount collections in WoW, and my achievement farming there).  We were doing dinner the next night with some company, and he made some comment, something like "Next thing you know, there will be websites and forums with achievements...."

I've been reading alot of your blog and my head really hasn't stopped spinning yet too much I can relate too. That's a extremely interesting situation you have there with your husband I'm really at a loss of words if a Black Ops player finds a need to compete silly that just doesn't fit its obvious there's definitely some prejudice going on here, not that I think GB is a place to come and compete but more of a place to combine and share your gaming progression with others alike.

I'm a casual black ops and wow player myself a all round gamer really, most of the multilayer progress in Black Ops is not that impressive I think I'm 4th or 5th prestige that doesn't really even make a different to me what would really matter, for the competitive, is his stats and kpd if it's anything under 2kpd not very impressive for pc but of course if he play's on console the bar could be higher or lower , you should tell your man he should do all the single player Black Ops achievements that's worth some acknowledgment If he has congratulate him  I haven't got around to doing it myself yet, also alot of wow players don't get enough appreciation at all for there feats I must be the only one outside of my brothers wow gaming friends that actually understands and acknowledges his achievements so grats on your Mount and Pet collection and your Paladin in general I'm guessing that's your main it's impressive but of course this is what ''he'' should be saying.

I've been trying to get my friends onto giant bomb not one of them seems even slightly interested its frustrating. I'm going to keep trying though
