Yeah, so the cost of production can go down and they can make more of a profit on it. They're not going to lower the price. They did the same thing with the "super slim" PS3s.

This isn't a risk for them though. GTA is gigantic, the last one sold 25 million copies. It's CoD level of popularity. The difference is Actvision likes pumping the well until it dries up. Take 2 want GTA as their golden boy for as long as possible. It's a series that's been around for nearly 17 years and will probably last another 17. CoD will never last that long. No, but as a publisher, this is why games like Bioshock Infinite, X-COM, or Spec Ops gets made. They got dat GTA money.

While I totally agree with you, PS+ is doing this free game thing insanely better than MS, this month's offerings from Sony (in the US) aren't exactly stellar either. ICO HD, Galaga: Legions DX, and RE: Chronicles HD aren't exactly new/exciting.

EU's PS+ stuff, however, is always really good.

Yeah, PS+ has seen better months.

The difference being you get to keep all of these games, whereas if your PS+ sub lapses, you lose it all.

I'd rather get games that I actually want to play as a trade-off for that. I would assume that publishers are less likely to licence out their newer games if people can just keep them forever.
