I've never used it, but RetroArch can be configured with a translation service. The translation service just works off what's on your screen, or a region of it, so it's not a thing that's dependant on RetroArch.

Note this will cost money, as it's using another translation service under the hood.

@therealturk: You seem pretty flippant on far cry already, but New Dawn already showed us that the nuclear event did very much happen. They make the ending and any choices you made in 5 useless in that game.

> Incidentally, anyone remember when Far Cry was about fighting biomutants created by a mad scientist trying to take over the world

Yeah, wasn't that one game, from 17 years ago?

I also have to assume some of the conversations during development must have gone like this:

"hey boss should we add collision to this?"

"nah"

"hey, should the world map actually reflect the world?"

"nope I don't see why they would"

Another person chiming in to say they really dislike the gibberish / narration. Also, really irks me that most dialogue is from the third person point of view. Makes it hard to connect with any character, even my own.

And my god, the number of terms they throw at you in the first couple of hours.

@apewins: It seems worse, but I'm not a heavy d-pad user anyways. I picked one up last holiday season and ennnnhhhhhh. It's comfy, and works like a PS4 controller on PC: headphone jack, microphone, those all work. Steam will get the rumble working. The price tag in Canada tho, woof. You're paying for a lot of features that nothing uses (yet?)

I wonder how necessary having controllers actually is for VR

Separated controllers are absolutely necessary for a good experience in VR. Finger-detection is impossible without an array of sensors positioned all around your body, and most VR sets are moving away from dedicated sensors.

I think there's a reason to why they recently said "platforms where Game Pass exists" vs "Xbox and PC". I could just as likely be reading too much into things.

I definitely have regrets after purchasing mine, but that's all on me and I don't want to take away from people that actually enjoy theirs. Will probably look to resell the thing since it's just been sitting unused on my desk for a whiiiiiile.
