Waste of Money Part 3: Games I Have Purchased More Than Once

This list comprises games that for whatever reason, I have purchased more than once for different platforms.

List items

  • I bought it and played through it on the PS2 not long after it's release and loved it. I recently picked it up for PC during one of those cursed Steam sales.

  • I received this game as a Christmas gift for the Playstation 2 the year it was released. After reading about how the PS2 version was trash I never played it. I later purchased it for myself for the original Xbox, a supposedly superior version, where I played it to completion. I then picked it up for PC during a steam sale thereby making it three distinct versions of this game that I have either purchased or had purchased for me.

  • I bought and finished this game for the Xbox 360. Then a friend of mine talked me into buying the Game of the Year Edition for PS3 because the philistine doesn't own a 360. We still have yet to touch this one. So not only did I rebuy a game I already owned I abandoned a leveled up character I had already started on the other version. If you're reading this, fuck you Dustin.

  • Without a doubt the most embarrassing game in this list. I bought this game day one for the Xbox 360 and it still sits on my shelf in the cellophane wrapping with a bright orange sticker on top of the box which reads "DO NOT SELL BEFORE 10-28-2008." The most pathetic aspect being that I have more than once thought about purchasing the Game of the Year Edition somehow convincing myself that it was a good deal. This is despite the fact that I have paid $60 for the pleasure of shelving the game once already. UPDATE: Out of weakness I bought the Game of the Year Edition for PC not too long ago. I now own two versions of this game that have not been played. I should be shunned. Who knows, maybe someday

  • I received Mass Effect 2 for PC for free back in 2011 when Bioware ran the promotion giving out free copies for purchasing Dragon Age II. I kind of wanted to play Mass Effect on PC already after hearing how much better it was. So needing a save file to import in my mind was the excuse I needed to buy this again.

  • Technically I have only bought this collection once, but it contains Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and Two Thrones of which I already have the original versions.

  • Purchased this as part of a bundle with American Nightmare during a Steam Deal.
