Getting kicked out of the Destiny Raid video. Part 1 at 4 hours 50 minutes. Also kicks me out of the video when paused.

@ll_exile_ll: I certainly don't disagree with your point about two sided morality systems. I prefer systems that track your alignment to individuals rather than overall "good or evil" points. I think games in general have moved away from the old two sided system with games like The Witcher being a pretty good example.

I like skill points being tied to charm or intimidate. I enjoy building the weaker, smarter, more charismatic character and seeing if i can find a way around my problems. If anybody is able to take that path then it cheapens it a little. That said, there should still be interesting dialog and branching options for those who focus on other skills.

I really liked that you had to use experience points to raise your speech abilities in ME1. First, it meant that if you wanted to be able to talk your way out of something you would have to make sacrifices in other areas. And secondly, it allowed you to take a more natural approach to dialog options. In the later games I always felt that I had to go paragon or renegade whenever they were available so that I would level that side up and be able to use those speech options later in the game. Took my middle path character and turned him into a full paragon or renegade.

@billmcneal: Hard sci fi tends to avoid "magic technology" that solves all problems. For example, The Forever War talks about relativity and the passage of time as well as the stresses on the body from accelerations and deceleration in space travel.

Finished The Forever War recently. A really great read if you like hard sci fi. I also recommend that and Starship Troopers to anybody serving in the military.

I was super interested in picking this game up but the beta reminded me that every shooter I play I am always the worst person on the team. If there was a single player element I would be getting this but as of 0right now I have no more friends to play games like this with and the thought of just getting smoked by random people won't motivate me to purchase this game.

I keep going back to the lamp posts. Coda tells Davey to stop adding lamp posts to his games. To me this reads two possible ways. Coda and Davey are the same person but Davey represents the desire to be liked or accepted. So the single developer is including the lamp posts to give his games some kind of goal to reach but is only doing this to please an outside audience so they aren't part of the creative vision. Or, Davey is editing these games to release them. We know that Davey makes edits to make things more playable, speeding you up, fastforwarding time, unlocking doors, etc... but what other changes might he have made when he compiled Coda's games for release. Did he add the lamp posts in those collections? Is he trying to inject his own ideas into this work or is it all being done subconsciously?

The way the narrator talks at the end has me leaning towards the first option. Coda could represent Davey's early inspiration and the person that he once was while the narrator represents the person he is today. He could be looking back on his own transformation and the way his own vision and goals have changed. He says he is releasing all of these games as a way to get Coda back. Is he reaching out to his younger self, trying to make contact and recapture some of what inspired him originally?

I remember sticking with my tape player well after portable CD players we available because it didn't skip and I got one that was waterproof and super durable so I could take it skateboarding or toss it in my backpack at school. Yeah, I was a pretty rad kid.

If we get another metal gear game maybe they can find a way to work minidiscs in.
