@peezmachine: From looking at the amazon pictures it looks more like a water cooling system to me, so I don't think it's a stock cooler. I've never done a water cooling system but I think the tubes are the give away.

To the OP, if you redid the thermal stuff and it's still hot, it probably is the cooler. Or are you overclocking the CPU with some voltage tweaks? You could try setting the cpu back to default spec if you have it overclocked. Temps definitely too high for idle so at least you've deduced part of the problem.

@sweetz: There is a 15-20 minute video feature you can watch that's narrated by the game writer I believe. It might fill in the gaps. The game overall was definitely intense throughout, lots of screaming and suffering, so I agree that if you come to games for entertainment this is rough. Probably similar to if someone goes to movies to be entertained and walked into Schindler's List or something ya know? Personally I don't mind a heavy game like this every so often and this was definitely a good one if you can stick through the rather tedious gameplay ;p

@homemadetshirt: I think that's related to your storage capacity. Once you get above 25 of a resource, it'll start to "decay" (!) and you'll lose 1-2 of that resource every so often as punishment. I think it's basically the games way of trying to keep you from ever getting a shit load of any particular resource. You can upgrade your storage at the base to increase how much of certain resources you can hold.

I also found a "pallet" mod that increased storage by 10 once installed. Mods seem to be semi-rare as I've only seen the pallet once so far.

I picked Ishimura because I feel like you could probably find a place to hole up for a bit from the monsters until help comes...I haven't seen Event Horizon in forever but if I recall can't that ship just fuck up your brain no matter where you are? Maybe Ishimura is that way too with the marker actually....

Shitty situation all around. If i was actually responsible for having to escape on my own, probably Event Horzion because I think the monsters in dead space would fuck you up in a heartbeat, whereas you might stand a chance trying to brute force out of the Event Horizon?

Don't know if you've spent any time on twitch watching streams or anything, but I get the impression certain streamers really strive to keep their viewership kind, respectful, and friendly. I can't think of anyone specifically off the top of my head, but you might be able to track down a streamer like that and see if they have a discord channel where like-minded viewers can group up for games. It might not be the "top streamer" for a particular game, but someone who regularly has a few hundred to a thousand viewers.

And like others have said, don't read comments, block/ignore/tune-out is unfortunately par for the course around most online communities, not just games. I will say that I've been frequenting the Bob Ross subreddit called 'happytrees' and everyone in there is super friendly and helpful with all the would-be painters like me, so positive communities certainly exist out there =)
