PS2 games I have played

Got way deeper into gaming with the PS2. Got it when I was just about finishing up elementary school and then enjoyed the next almost 10 years with it. Such a great console, even though I missed out on a ton of beloved classics. Still was kept to mostly just renting games at this point.

  • unbelievable game. blew my mind. it was just so massive and so perfectly crafted and just... damn i loved it so much. absolute masterpiece.

  • it was my first PS2 game and i was so excited to play it because the screens i had seen of it looked so amazing for the time and i just thought it was so cool that a ff game was going to have voice acting. still one of my favorites of the series. what an interesting world and engrossing story.

  • this game is just so... i don't know, original to me? it's an open world rockstar game but it's so dense with little details and little moments of pure joy and fun and it has such character to it. i really loved it and still do.

  • so cool. what a vibe this game is. so fun. gta was just so cool around this time. everyone played the hell out of this. i still know the cheat codes for health, armor, lower wanted stars, and weapons.

  • i was at the exact right age for this. i was an angsty 14 year old who loved final fantasy. and just going to all those worlds and exploring and using that combat and uncovering more of the story, it was all just so awesome.

  • ditto

  • i got psx late and ps2 even later, so by the time i got this ths3 and thps4 were kind of old hat. so i went from thps2 to this and my mind was blown. it was so smooth to play. so many creative combos would be found in those great levels. going off your board, reverts, spine transfers, wall plants. such a memorable game. spent so much time with it.

  • this is one that took time to grow on me. no turn based combat? plays like an offline mmo? i had never even played an mmo before. and some of its systems sort of befuddled me at first. but at some point i began loving this game a lot. the world is so rich to me. the combat became addictive. it has flaws for sure and i much prefer the newer version on ps4 today, but i put a ton of hours into the original.

  • this is when i fell in love with rockstar. blew my mind.

  • built upon what i loved about the psx spidey game. this was such a thrill ride and such a great attempt at capturing a super hero power fantasy. it was so fun being spidey and doing spidey things.

  • i don't remember what compelled me to rent this one weekend. i don't think i knew what it was before hand. but i got hooked immediately. then i begged my mom to buy it for me. i eventually had all 3 that were released on ps2 (and i am also including them with II here.) so much fun. i eventually ended up learning a bit of guitar and this probably had something to do with it. too bad my dog chewed up the controller receiver one day.

  • i love the job system so much in this that i can look past the j-pop cringe and awkward tonal shift from ffx. the combat was really great. and the story actually wasn't all that bad by the end.

  • loved it but this is where tony hawk games began to lose me a little bit. it was just a bit, i don't know, 'much' in my view. the natas spin and the sticker slapping and just the overall design of the game was a slight misfire. but i still really enjoyed it.

  • simpsons gta. nuff said.

  • this might have been my first fps? i can't think of one i really played before i rented this on a lark. didn't grow up with a pc good enough for gaming and didn't get into goldeneye or halo. though i suppose doom was my first. anyway i thought this was really fun. i love the idea of bouncing around between time periods the way that they did it here.

  • seems that a lot of people really did not like the open world mode but i loved it. i've always loved the mk universe. i just really enjoyed running around collecting koins and then getting into fights. yeah shujinko was whatever and they had a ken clone named kobra but it also had baraka and kabal and mileena.

  • had no business being this good. nrs should revisit this style of game with their kharacters.

  • spent so much time in the create-a-wrestler mode and in the gm mode.

  • liked it a lot. i loved how open and seamless it was to go from one area to the next. i was a kid so i didn't know that those long tunnels were basically loading screens. it was cool being able to do bmx stuff.

  • very tense. i was bad at stealth games back then so i only got about halfway through. but as a young teen, the brutally unapologetic edginess of this really did it for me.

  • yes i was still playing on ps2 and yes they were still releasing these on ps2 in 2009. for some inexplicable reason i became a basketball fan that year and got into this game. bought it for really cheap, as you could guess. didn't know that it was basically just a roster update of the same game they had been releasing for years. but i liked it still an would you believe they also released 2k10 on ps2?

  • bought it way cheap from a rental store that was going out of business. didn't know a thing about it but looking back it probably laid the foundation for my future love of stealth games. it felt cool to master a level and never get seen. very difficult though. don't think i got even half way.

  • neat idea that i wish some dev would revisit. fun.

  • was never a sonic guy. definitely the one i've played the most. bought it for cheap at a rental place that was closing. i liked it.

  • whatever. i thought this game was ok.
