I don't like this whole "then don't do it" attitude. If a few dudes and I just not sign up it wouldn't change anything. It would the same as moving out to a shack in the middle of nowhere because I don't like the government. It's a cowards way out. We should stand up for ourselves as a collective and tell these companies this crap won't fly. (Steps off of soup-box)

If your "right" to be part of a class-action as a consumer is protected by law then that aspect of their TOS agreements is invalid. Any contract which has provisions contrary to your basic legal rights is invalid. It's primarily a scare tactic to prevent consumers from participating in a class-action suit, as well as adding an annoying wrinkle for lawyers who would have to challenge the terms of service in court before filing a class-action.

@rebgav: Thanks for the answering.

I still wish there was a way to stop corporations from trying something like this. It feels we're being taking advantage of because they think we won't take any kind of action.

In light of what been happening with EA, Sony and Microsoft recently; Is there anything we can do to try defend ourselves as consumers? Not to sound naive or anything, but it has to be illegal to make us just sign our rights away like this. Right?

I think that with GTA and Red Dead everyone knew what they were getting(More better GTA and more better GTA with cowboys). This is a new IP with a new kind of gameplay that we really have not seen much of. I love Rockstar games too but the only thing i've seen so far is hype.

I mean the game comes out in a few weeks and there hasn't been any real hands on preview coverage. Rockstar hasn't put out any extended gameplay video showing how the game actually plays. It doesn't seem like there is going to be a demo. Even on the last Bombcast Ryan Davis said he pre-ordered just to see what the game was, and he's gaming press, shouldn't he know something by now? I'm not trying to say the game going to be bad or anything, i'm just saying it's weird no one knows anything.
