So today is my mums birthday and we (my sister and i) got her a wii and wii fit. Now her and dad are heading off for a night away so she hasnt played it yet but iv been testing it out... just to make sure it works.  I dont mind what iv seen so far (wii sports and wii fit) and i was wondering what games i should get. Suggestions would be awesome.

Well, you have lots of different things to try, but depending upon your mums enjoyment level, you can try the following crowd favorites:
 
-Mario Kart Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Zack & Wiki: Barbaros' Treasure, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Paper Mario
 
Then you might look at some other different titles like Boom Blox, Endless Ocean, My Sims, Geometry Wars: Galaxies, or Tiger Woods
 
If you got the Wii Motion Plus accessory, then Wii Sports Resort or the latest Tiger Woods might fit in with her interest level.
 
Adding in Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, and 3 from the Virtual Console can't hurt either. Play some 2-player and see if she likes Mario or Luigi better ;P

From what I own, these I happily recommend, but of course it depends on your tastes.   Have fun and if you want to ask about any specific games, I will answer it.

For your mother, you could get Endless Ocean: Blue World and Animal Crossing.
