I'm having a blast puzzling this game. I agree it's good for short stints of inspiration, so a Switch or ultimately a proper tablet version would probably be best for this game. I'm playing on Steam (however it's currently free for Twitch Prime subscribers) and it has workshop integration for new recipes, and ingredients, and maybe even new machines.[?] The PC version also allows you to select more than one object at a time and move or copy it. It just needs a H/V mirror flip function.

This game also has friggin computers you can program. I'm not far enough into the 'campaign' yet [which is more like an elongated tutorial] to know how though. There's also liquids apparently.

Any questions?

Yeah, a few friends were just talking and we agree Business Dave's 10 needs to be a permanent feature.

Well, it happened. Game became a tour instead of a challenge. But hey, if that's what Vinny wants out of it, god bless him for finding his shards early.

Personally I avoided the spammy attacks like the Heretical Grinder and Rhava blades because they just break the game. I hope they don't try to grind those barbers.

Reminders/Info:

  • Save after every shard collected
  • Dodge back with LB
  • Slide tackle/dodge with DOWN+X
  • Footwear enhances slide tackling and head stomping damage (after double jump is unlocked)
  • Defense isn't always the best stat when choosing gear
  • LUCK is the most important stat for item and shard drops;
  • You can fire directional shards while in the air

I played the game on hard (unlockable via "[NIGHTMARE]" name) so it's interesting to see how easy it is on normal. Game seems poorly balanced on both difficulties but still a fun time. Seems like something they can improve with in patches; they already tweaked the difficulty quite a bit on the day one patch.

[M]y only downside is that besides having a ton of items through crafting it never felt useful as finding items in the world was always stronger and once you got the first decent greatsword you don't need anything else until the next really good greatsword or whip and no reasons to use ammo at all because it is expensive and useless compared to just smoking everything with a 2 handed sword.

That first fight against samurai David Hayter also gave me some trouble, in large part because I kept underestimating the hitbox on the fiery explosion slash. Then like a true Symphony-inspired game the difficulty curve completely fell apart and I felt way too overpowered for everything after it.

I agree with all these statements.

I didn't level up my alchemy shard until NG+ but the way it multiplies results when you craft might be the way to main gun. However I got the infinite ammo hat before that point.

This game is excellent, except for its difficulty presentation. Normal is easy and Hard needs to be unlocked via password. Hard is definitely the way to play it if you aren't just wanting to tour through the game and make it to the end. Is it true that bosses have new attack patterns on Hard+ ? I'm almost done with my third play-through, this time on hard and no NG+ and only allowing myself to use non-spammy weapons. In Normal the bosses were all very easy, especially with the Flying Edge or Rhava Bural at my disposal. Hopefully Vinny doesn't lean on the Flying Edge once he finds it because it's unlikely he'll get the Rhava drop. (Full Disclosure: I used cheat engine to raise my Luck up to make farming shards and gear less of a hastle)

As far as the sounds the guys were hearing, nothing came through my audio processor/compressor/magnifier thing and it usually picks up very quiet sounds.

Love this series!

This was fun.

Jeff, can I please get you to look at the VST plugin for Stereo Tool (50 bucks) that can run in most streaming software? It's got a three band AGC, 2 Multiband (up to 9 bands) Compressors, 1 Wideband Compressor, And an Advanced Clipper that helps get rid of distortion when you peak and stay loud (which shouldn't happen much with the compressors after the AGC).

I don't know about you, but I like having tons of settings to tweak and play with to get my audio satisfactory.

edit: I would watch a feature where Jeff just plays around on his DAW.

Guys, @rorie@jeff

I love the way you folks offer multiple sales per year. However as you might have noticed with the larger Steam sales, they often to extend just past the first of the month or begin just before the end of the month.

That technique is to get extra sales from people who rely on checks at the first of the month. Starting a sale on the 6th and ending it on the 19th isn't the most convenient time for a one to take place.

I hope you take this into consideration next time you plan a sale!

Here's the easy way to remember Japanese button assignment: The number of strokes it takes to draw.

Circle can be drawn with one stroke, it is button 1.

Cross can be drawn with two strokes, it is button 2.

Triangle can be drawn with three strokes, it is button 3.

Square can be drawn with four strokes, it is button 4.

Would be nice to get links to the parts you got off Amazon.

edit: I have a broken PS4 controller with a fully functioning PCB (sans speaker) that I want to turn into a fight stick. I want something nice and wide like that which can set all the way across my lap.
