@RhombusOfTerror: Regardless, you're still not getting a 1:1 pixel ratio. And it isn't likely Sony will release updated firmware if they haven't already. The BenQ I mentioned does support 1:1 pixel mapping in all modes, even analog. The only drawback my BenQ has is that it doesn't have component inputs; just an hdmi, dvi, and d-sub (vga), which is fine because you can find a d-sub wii cable. it also has headphone port that only workd with hdmi, but that means it decodes dolby digital (no optical out).

That is precisely the point. This thread is pretty much summed up.

Also, the PC gaming market is largely "me too." Listen to the pretentiousness that comes from the PCGA.

I hadn't played any console versions, but the PC version crashes for me generally one per session (even worse when patched). I had wondered if the console versions also crashed since they all use identical hardware (360 and PS3 separately, of course). This further convinces me the game was rushed to meet Fall. Hopefully a real patch/title update is on the way.

Who needs a TV? Almost nobody uses the speakers (most have an external sound system) or the tuner (most folks use the inputs and a cable/satellite box). A TV without those is just a monitor. I use a 24 inch BenQ G2400WD 1920x1200 monitor for video, and my computer's soundcard for audio. This is the best setup I've ever had.

Oh, 1:1 pixel mapping; contrast is 1000:1 (3000:1 dynamic). Brightness is something like 400 c/m2... though that could be wrong. It is a TN panel, if I'm not mistaken. Cost me around $400 USD (looks like they're as low as $350 USD now -- HIGHLY recommended).

That 15000:1 seems like a dynamic contrast ratio. The actual one is probably closer to 5000:1 or 3000:1... either way that is a nice ratio. You will get a resized image if you plan on doing anything in 1080p like blu-ray movies or PC games since the resolution is only 1680x1050. Also since it stretches the image, it does not support 1:1 pixel mapping... unless RhombusOfTerror is not using a digital input.

Also, don't let anybody tell you that you won't be able to notice any resolution difference between 720 and 1080p on a 22 inch or smaller. That is complete bullshit. Of course it depends on how far you sit from it. I sit about 3 feet away form my monitor and I could easily make out jaggies at 1080p. I don't even think 2560x1600 would alleviate the jaggies.

I've got those cans and a soundcard that does decodes dolby digital (poorly). I had to send them to Sennheiser for replacement once one of the drivers broke away. Only cost me $50 for a brand new pair that seem to be made of a better material (no stress cracks).

I really wish the 360 had a built-in headphone mixer for digital stereo. Not like the poor excuse for a headphone mode that GTA4 had. There was no bass crossfeed.

I thought about buying that exact JVC box, but didn't really think I'd make much use of it. What do you think of it? What did it cost you? How is the bass?

For voice chat, I drape the regular 360 headset around my neck and make the voice go through the TV (headphones).

I remember seeing an ad for that V-Pick. That thing blew my 11 year old mind. But looking back at it with more understanding of hardware, I'm glad I never got to experience one. Think I might have seen an article for the Quest For Fame guitar a while back now that I've seen what it looks like.
