I was fading on JoJo interest by the end of the previous chunk (the constant "you thought you defeated me but you didn't notice X" "oh you thought I didn't notice X but it is you who didn't notice Y!" thing was getting old for me), but One Punch was a fun diversion and I enjoyed this chunk of JoJo more than I had the previous stuff. I'll keep listening!

There was a discussion of how Avdul appeared out of nowhere and was not on the plane with Jonathan, but actually, as Jonathan goes to leave the airport with Holly, he turns over his shoulder and whistles to a shadowy figure who starts to follow after. It's not clear in the moment, but obviously that was Avdul!

I kind of agree with some of the above about the fake fighting with Jeff — I get that it’s supposed to be a joke, but it’s just the same joke over and over. I vote for finding a new bit.

But really I came here to express my surprise that they missed that the whole hero organization was created as a result of Saitama saving the ball-chin boy! When they show the photo of the founder with his own enormous ball-chin and say the organization was founded three years ago after the founder’s grandson was saved by an unknown hero, I thought that was pretty clear. Kinda sounded like Jeff and Lucy caught it but were talked out of it by Tamoor and John.

This looks cool, but after Jess explained that the puzzle solutions don't change, I stopped watching -- I'm going to play this and don't want to know all the solutions. I'll play it on Game Pass tomorrow! Maybe I'll come back to this video after I've finished the game, or at least gotten more than 30 minutes into it.

I was confused about Tam's doom and gloom about FIFA-less EA Soccer and talk of the harms of losing the license, how you might have to import custom player names and stuff -- I thought it had been reported, including on the Bombcast, that EA has locked up licensing deals for all the players and individual soccer/football leagues and basically the consequence of losing the FIFA license is just that they can't use FIFA tournament names like the World Cup? Does Tam know different, or did he just misconstrue the FIFA news?

Relatedly, Tam made a comment about how The Show games don't have an Ultimate Team-style mode, but they do! Diamond Dynasty. It's just as annoyingly loaded with confusing menus and prompts to buy more card packs, though I suspect it's nowhere near as successful as Ultimate Team.

Better than the first episode. I wish it were more directly about the album instead of general riffing on the artist, and I wish there were clips--I listen to other podcasts that discuss music and use audio clips, and you'd think on a paywalled feed that doesn't get posted to youtube they'd be fine??? I dunno. I'll keep listening for now at least. I looked through some of the 2MTLN covers and they seem really cool and well done, but also just not my musical taste.

I had pretty mixed feelings on this show. I have zero context for who these people are, but they seemed generally charming and amusing. I think "let's dunk on this album" is a somewhat questionable premise that wasn't especially well-executed here--there were funny jokes on Weezer/Rivers/the album, but also some just lazy pile-ons. The most intriguing part to me was the end where...everyone basically said that actually the album isn't that bad?? I would've been interested to hear more about that--it's a band whose best work is ages behind them, led by a guy who is quite a weirdo, an album whose premise is confusing and doesn't seem followed through on, and yet, on the whole, it's also a competent if mediocre album? That's a more interesting thing to explore. Despite everything going against the album, why does some of it work to some degree? I don't need the cast to pretend to like stuff they didn't like, but I do think it's more interesting to talk about bad/flawed/strange albums where some of the cast still defends it or they can generally acknowledge good or interesting stuff about it despite it being a failure. That's much more appealing to me than just everyone saying the meanest thing they can think of and patting each other on the back. Also, clips would be useful!!! (I wonder if that's easier to pull off in episodes that won't be free on youtube?) Anyway, I'll give a chance to another episode or two. I'm on the fence on this one.
