Its weird because Persona 5 is one of the only and actually I think actually the only game this year they bothered to do a spoiler cast of and yet it didn't even get into top 10. I think that is more due to Ben and Alex's seemingly tepid takes on the game. I just listened to the spoilercast recently after I had beaten it. And even with listening to that entire episode I'm still kind of flummoxed at their problems with the game but opinions will be opinions.
Persona 5. I historically have bounced off every Persona game I've ever tried. Bought Persona 5 on the black friday sale and loved it. Playing through a second time for trophies now.
@elmorales94: I have Nier right at the top of my list this year but I fully expect them to crown Zelda or PUBG tomorrow. I do expect Nier to get a solid 2nd or 3rd place showing though.
@delitist: Yeah, thats my top 3 this year. Nier, Persona 5 , Odyssey in that order. I just sort of feel like am I fucking crazy for not liking this more when everyone else is out there talking about how revolutionary it is? But then I think how I must sound when I'm shaking people telling them to play Nier. Lol.
You know, say what you will about literally everything about Battlefront 2 from the loot box stuff to the actual game play itself but the one category it should have actually gotten props in was Best Looking Game.
That game really ornately replicates everything about the star wars universe to a painstaking degree. It didn't even have to win the category but not being even a remote final contender seems like a huge oversight to me.
