GTA San Andreas had my favorite cheats. Flying cars, armed pedestrians, super high bike jumps. I liked the one that would cause all NPCs in the world to fight each other. Combined with the armed pedestrians cheat it became a civil war apocalypse survival game.

I’m with you on Outer Wilds. It’s the only game I really strongly disliked playing that I still recommend to everyone who likes games. For the right kind of player it’ll become their favorite game, as it has for many people. But man those flying controls... I’m also just not the type of person who is good at deciphering obtuse puzzles, and the time loop mechanic made it all the more frustrating for me. I would get to the end of a cycle having learned nothing, or I would have the anxiety of “am I wasting my time here, because I missed something that happens earlier in the cycle?” Just wasn’t my thing at all.

I used to use games to escape from stress, but that would only make things worse (typically when the stress involves something that needs to be done, but I put it off to play games instead). And I find it impossible to play games at all when depression is hitting me.

At this point I’d say it’s settled back into being a hobby for me, as it has been for most of my life.

Pretty much spot-on with everything here. I kinda wanna play this whole thing, but kinda don’t wanna spend $60 on it since it’s pretty rough. That guy with the hat was so instantly off-putting. It wasn’t until the gameplay began in earnest that Outriders started to feel like anything worthwhile. But even then, there’s the voice acting, the constant slow fades to cutscenes... just a weird game all around.

Breathedge, a game I first heard about just a week ago, has received its 1.0 update. I never played Subnautica but always thought it seemed really cool, so hearing this game described as Subnautica in space had me curious to see what it's all about. I haven't given it a go myself, but wanted to see if anyone has checked it out! What do you think so far?

@undeadpool: Atlus has also established a weird history of continuing Persona storylines in different genres, like they did with Persona 4 Arena. I'm kinda into it, though I never did play that fighting game.

@alistercat: Load times are weirdly long for me, and I have it on an SSD. Also had an issue where my wired controller disconnected and the game just wouldn’t take any inputs after reconnection, so I had to force close and relaunch. Nothing else has cropped up so far.

@trh5001: I get tangled up trying to use the lock on because I'll target an enemy, and then instinctively use right stick to fix the camera, which changes the lock on target...

Anything that isn’t premium I watch on YouTube. Premium stuff I watch on either my phone or on my second monitor while doing something else. When I had my PS4 hooked up the web browser was surprisingly good for watching premium stuff as well.

@imhungry: I’ve been surprised by just how Persona the combat is. I was expecting a big map full of enemies to fight, but instead it’s the singular shadows roaming around that you can ambush, triggering a larger battle. It’s pretty cool!

My only issue with the game so far has been the camera, since I often lose sight of who I’m fighting. I’ve also had a hard time keeping track of the skills enemies are using, and how my party is being affected/damaged. Maybe I just need to pause more and analyze the field.
