They dont force you to take cards in Slay the Spire. In fact one of the best skills to learn is when you need to stop adding cards to your deck. You can skip every single after battle card draw.
@trelution: I think it's much worse because he admits in this podcast specifically that he seems to know literally nothing about the game, even going so far as to admit he didnt know it wasnt turn based. It's seriously him being his old "I'm actually my father" self and judging it because be thinks it looks stupid. I would think he'd be more open to it these days but he seems just as dismissive as ever.
@epidehl: Yeah honestly I was expecting the line to actually be disgusting morally or something. Instead it's just really corny and doesnt make much sense. Jeff was being way too dramatic about how bad it is. Either that or he's referring to something entirely different.
I will say that the anchor is definitely not invincible during that first attack, its just that the for some odd reason you have to be at an absolute perfect angle to get an attack in. I was able to get the first hit in multiple times.
Does this game pick up at some point? Love the stupidity of burgle my bananas but this game so far kinda blows. By comparison, sunshine is a masterpiece.
No...that's why so many people predicted this to be a glorious shitshow(in a fun entertaining way, not just a bad series way) at it's announcement. This game is not great, it doesn't pick up, and they've only finished about 3-5% of it so far. Hell they only got 2 episodes in before they started turning on it themselves. It'll be interesting to see how long they can last or if they just rush to get those series ending special items quick.

Not to get into spoilers or anything, but she actually (via inner dialog)comments on this at one point, noting that it's odd she is in this place seeing these things happen and isn't phased at all.
