Oh hey they answered my question about which NES games to bring to a Throwback Thursday at work! And didn't make fun of my name, which is always appreciated.
I ended up bringing a bunch of games, but mostly people played Super Mario Bros 1, Super Mario Bros 3, Double Dragon II, and RBI Baseball. It was actually pretty fun - I enjoy sharing my love of gaming with other people!
Breath of Fire III is such a fantastic game. The PSP version just became available on PSN in North America this past February, for those interested.
It's definitely one of my favorite games of all time.
EDIT: As an addendum, I love college sports and minor league baseball. College sports because while the pros are almost always going to be good, that's not necessarily true in college. They're kids, for the most part and tend to fluctuate more - there can be fantastic upsets and wild momentum swings. It's a lot easier to be close to the action and it's usually cheaper. I liken college sports to the Olympics a bit - (usually) amateur athletes competing their heart out for the love of the sport.
Minor league baseball is just fantastic because it's usually one good player sent down to the minors for some training or easing back into the schedule after an injury with the rest of the team being kinda awful. Add in cheap tickets with really cheap beer, and you have yourself a party. Also the promotions minor league teams run are fantastic. One of the A-Advance team games I'm going to is running a Nickelodeon jersey day. Another day they're doing a Cowboy Monkey Rodeo. It's fantastic.
