I'm going to start a band.

So I guess I'm going to start off my little rant by letting you know a little about me.  I have been a pretty serious percussionist for the past 10 or so years.  I was a member of the Northcoast Academy Percussion Ensemble from 2003-2006 and a member of the Syracuse Brigadiers in 2003.  I was also a percussion instructor for a few years. (Both drumline and drumset.)  I am now a member of the United States Air Force.  The easiest way to explain my job is that I work on radar and communication systems on airplanes.  And for fun on the weekends I go out to bars and clubs with friends and have a good time and socialize.  Well tonight I realized that this city of Valdosta Georgia lacks in musical talent.
Tonight I sat and watched a band of Valdosta State University students butcher some of rock music's best songs in Zakk's Bar downtown.  I mean these guys were bad.  How can you attempt to play Skynard without the sweet guitar solo's?  The nerve of these people.  They disgraced Pearl Jam and played something that sort of resembled something that Audioslave might have once played.  And the thing that bothers me the most about this whole night is that this group od 5 guys got played to do this.
So my buddy and I have decided that we are going to do this city a favor and start a band,  Someone needs to show this city what music is SUPPOSED to sound like.  They obviously have no idea.  I mean people were clapped and going crazy during all of these terrible ensemble disasters during Freebird.  Not because it sounded good but because they were wasted and could sort of make out what the song was.  There are people who are going to get lucky tonight.  People who danced during this musical car crash.  People who got the nerve to go up and ask a girl to dance to a 3 Doors Down song that was played 20 beats per minute too fast.  The people of this city deserve better and I am going to give it to them.  Because I do not want any more children brought into this world because of bad music.  And because I simply do not want to ever hear it again!
