I loved the original but never played any of the others. But I've already had the stories for SH 2 and 3 totally spoiled, so I won't be getting this HD Collection.

It's about the journey, not the destination bro.

Absolutely. When you really think about it, SH2 is not about the "what" but about the "why" and the "how... the fuck is it that you don't get it, James?" When I first played it, I saw the "twist" coming from miles away but I refused to believe it could be that simple, but after subsequent playthroughs I realized that so did James. It is clever how the twist is not for you but for James, and the fact that things have to get weirder and more twisted to get the truth through his head is what makes the game so fun.

SH3's "twist" is similar in that once you know what it is, any kind of resolution is still far away.

Yep. I will watch chunks of it, but not the whole thing or my bandwidth will explode.

One The Maw with everything on it, please.

NOOOOOO! Well, it was coming to the 3ds, so I wasn't gonna buy it anyway, but still... The legends games were among my favorites back in the day.

Finally, I could argue that you should've picked different words. Why did you pick "fun" and "enjoyable"? Why not "entertaining" and "pleasant", or some other words? (sarcasm) In my opinion, LA Noire is fun and Dragon Age is fun. Bioshock, however, is entertaining. Burnout is gratifying. Rockband is groovy and sports games are enjoyable. And Modern Warfare, for example, would be pleasurable. I hope you can see the logic I used here. Now let's start using this new system so that all of us will be on the same page when talking about games! (/sarcasm)

Rockband is, in fact, groovy. There is no question about that. Burnout, on the other hand, is more of a  gratifyingly enjoyable game, while both Bioshock and LA Noire fall between the "mildly amusing" and "curiously palatable" categories.

I find fun things to be enjoyable. I find enjoyable things to be fun. I don't find things that are not fun enjoyable and I don't find things that I don't enjoy fun. Nothing is inherently fun or enjoyable; it's all subjective.
The argument is absolutely about semantics, but what would make it less bad is to complete the sentence "the requirements for something to be fun are..."  On the other hand, if you want to make your argument better then it would be useful to complete the sentence "the elements that make something fun, but not enjoyable are..."
Any extra explanations have no bearing on the quality and validity of your argument, but a nice presentation give the impression that you spent more than two minutes to come up with it.

"Alright! Silent Hill teaser take 50. Don't forget to smile"

I don't actually see anything wrong with the gameplay. Sure, there wasn't a lot to see, but that's why one can't draw conclusions about how good or bad it is going to be.
Seeing that little bit of combat made me hope that the developers actually do that thing where they make things more tense by making the avoidance of enemies... well, unavoidable. Sure, fighting is nice and escaping everything all the time would be boring, but it is great feeling like you have to run or at least move quickly away from the enemies so you can figure out how to fight them better. I thought Alan Wake (I know, bear with me here) did that great thing where you were fighting enemies and sometimes you had no choice but to run away because you either were overwhelmed by the amount (or the size) of enemies or because your flashlight was recharging.
If you're going to fight a bunch of enemies at a time, I would just hope that they introduce better ways to evade enemies and better ways to shift focus from one enemy to another, because those were some of the most frustrating things in Homecoming. In that game, if you were cornered by nurses and you had no bullets, then you'd be dead.
