The Silent Hill games are full of weird stuff but the giant Eileen head in SH4 The Room always stood out to me

Post Trauma looks sick and I'm also intrigued by Atomic Heart.

Aside from that it's a toss between DS2 and Judas

Also definitely going to try Armored Core because it's From, but I've literally never touched a mech game so we'll see!

Returnal absolutely rules and I can't believe I played thru 50+ hours of it without knowing Haxan Cloak did the soundtrack, haha. Explains why it was so damn good/haunting.

Getting all the endings was challenging, but I can honestly say Phrike (first boss) gave me the most trouble and after that everything just kind of fell into place.

In theaters: Men followed shortly by Crimes of the Future. Both 5 to 6 out of 10 for me.

Neither is their respective director's best effort (imo that would be Annihilation for Alex Garland, and for Cronenberg gosh where to even begin). Men looks/sounds amazing though (also has a pretty incredible final act) and CotF has some interesting concepts for sure (and great nightmarish visuals) -it just does not come together all that well in the end.

Streaming: Bringing Out the Dead - 10/10

Amazing, unhinged, bizarre. Loved it. Navarro's IGN article spurred me on to finally watch this since it's been on my list since forever. My older sibling loathed this movie back in 99 (I guess they thought it would be a horror film???) so I was always curious about it. I think this was Scorsese's/Schrader's last collaboration, if so holy crap what a trip to go out on.

Bonus TV: Severance, BARRY s3. Both a 9 to 10 out of 10.

Severance is fantastically well constructed and it looks amazing. It's also a great conversation piece (really makes u think) and I highly recommend Waypoint's bonus episode where they discuss the entire first season. BARRY just keeps on getting darker and I love it. Bill Hader's really showing off his directing chops for action sequences and for tension building. I'm looking forward to whatever he does next once Barry is done.

Good stuff!

Last few posts really summed it up imo: the Quest 2 is a great way to dip your toes into VR if u don't want to take the plunge on an Index, and it can do PCVR if you want via cable or streaming apps such as Virtual Desktop. It's got good to great versions of all the hits (Superhot, Tetris, Moss etc) plus several unique things (personal favs are Quill/VR animation theatre and RE4 VR, which rules!) and even though my usage has diminished quite a bit from when I first got my headset, I still think it's an awesome device, and def plan on jumping back in as soon as Bonelabs (from Stress Level Zero/Boneworks creators) is out later this year!

Still Elden Ring. Wanna switch it up a bit (tried that last month with Ghostwire.. didn't stick after 10 hours or so- it's fine) but I keep coming back to ER. I never played an MMO, but Elden Ring feels to me what I imagine MMOs feel like to the people that play them. Like I can just drop in whenever and discover new shit, seemingly for hundreds of hours.

I did play Streets of Rage 2 on a whim the other day though! and got pretty far in one go, but I always eat it at the stadium level, LOL. This might prompt me to give Sifu a try... or Streets of Rage 4.

@rubberbabybuggybumpers: I think it’s just a general drop from those miserable imp enemies you find inside catacombs.

Yup exactly. I must've gotten lucky cause it dropped in the very first catacomb I explored after only a few hours of playing. Now I'm around 30 hours in and I haven't taken it off since, lol.
