@Snipzor: I recently heard a story about an abortion gone awry in a Southern California clinic. Apparently, the abortionist inadvertently reversed the order of injections, so the baby was born alive and unscathed, albeit quite premature and needful of immediate intensive care. The doctors present immediately began life-saving procedures on the baby, who, just moments before, had merely been an unwanted fetus. This is schizophrenic and demonstrative of the absurdity of abortion. A slight geographical change does not magically render personhood to, as the laws of the land would suggest, a formerly worthless glob of cells no different in its right to exist than a cancerous growth.

At least President Obama is consistent in his pro-death positions. While a state senator In Illinois, he voted against the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act—legislation that requires, as in the case described above, that all measures be taken to save the life of a baby born after a botched abortion attempt. Obama believes that such unfortunate individuals should be left on a shelf in a closet to die alone, and that is what he protected by voting against the legislation. What can be said of a society that fails to protect the weakest among us? There is nothing dumb about the pro-life movement, whether you agree with it or not. Abortion is a barbaric crime against humanity, and I don't need religion to tell me that. Millions of people who are, I'd wager, more intelligent than yourself hold pro-life beliefs. You should listen to haggis and heed his words; dismissing the positions of your opposition as stupid is not, I'm afraid, a valid form of argumentation.
