A very good, faithful remix of the old Mega Drive games. And one that, unfortunately, can't pave over the cracks in the old gameplay mechanics. Still, great tunes.

Deep, fun battle mechanics but the levels, enemies and barebones structure meant I soon lost interest.

Played a bit of this game last year on PC and liked it a lot. Played it again this year on Switch...and wow! This one might end up as one of my all time favourites! Only game I've played that comes close to capturing Dark Souls' decaying beauty and grace.

Hipster Katamari? Colour me intrigued. Sadly the gameplay isn't nearly as compelling as the presentation so I found myself losing interest fast.

A class act from Insomniac, capturing everything you love about the friendly, neighborhood Spider-Man. One of the year's best.

And the award for best new character goes to - Kassandra! What a loveable badass she is, and wreaking havoc across the Aegean Sea was never dull. The most Ubi of all Ubi games, filled to the brim with systems and things to do, though after a whole month of playing almost daily I still wasn't close to the end and it all petered out for me.

What with all the newfangled metroidvanias of late, and having missed out on Symphony of the Night, I had a powerful hankering to play this pillar of the whole genre. What a masterpiece!
Also, there's Rondo of Blood, I guess. I'll get to that one day. Good intro music!
