as people suggest here, you should just try moving on, I have and it's for the best. You can write the forum posts all you want, but in the end it's obvious nothing is really gonna change. The magic is gone, and it has been for a very long time. If other people still find enjoyment here because of different expectations, more power to them, but the giant bomb you once knew and loved is dead and buried. Better just to accept that in my opinion and move on to other outlets maybe.

I'm so pumped for Stalker 2, especially after the trailer. SoC is one of my personal top 10 games ever, and I revisit it every so often to check out the mods. Right now, I'm going through the OGSR mod. Never liked Clear Sky and I should probably replay CoP with mods at some point.

Played it with a buddy, had a lot fun, the last boss seemed a bit unbalanced, could only beat him when my buddy was a bit overleveled.

Kinda stopped playing racing games about 20 years ago but I certainly do remember some great racing game soundtracks from back then.

Gran Turismo Ps1, Destruction Derby 1 and 2 PS1, Outrun Arcade, Crazy Taxi Arcade, Top Gear Snes, FZero Snes, Rock n Roll Racing Snes, Road Rash 2 Genesis

Still need to play a number of games, anyway:

  1. Wasteland 3 Definitely the most fun I had with a game this year, excellent all around.
  2. Cyberpunk 2077 Haven't finished it yet, but I think people are being a bit kneejerky over this game. It's really great.
  3. Half Life: Alyx I really like VR, and while this is nothing revolutionary on the platform, it's just a well made product.
  4. Final Fantasy VII Remake I have huge nostalgia for the original, and while the filler here sucks, it's still a beautiful game.
  5. The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Like the anti Dead Rising, very slow and atmospheric VR zombie game. Love it.
  6. Mafia: Definitive Edition Again huge nostalgia, and just a very competent remake.
  7. Streets of Rage 4 Played 1 to 3 to death with my buddy, this one is good too, but not like the original three games.
  8. Star Wars: Squadrons It's not a fantastic game, but seriously impressive in VR the first couple of times.

Also REALLY happy I gave Sekiro another go and beat it this time! Also still play Gwent, cool card game.

Nice list, Wasteland 3 is indeed an underappreciated gem. Had the most fun this year playing that game, effortlessly funny and clever. And the music holy crap ...

I bought a bunch of steam games the other day, one of which Iratus: Lord of the Dead. It's like a reverse Darkest Dungeon, I'm enjoying it.

Also playing a fully modded VR version of Euro Truck Simulator. The Promods add a ton of detail to the world and it's very fun to just relax with a beer, some good music and just cruise around. I don't even take jobs, I just drive around.

Lastly, a new card set came out for Gwent so I've been experimenting with new decks there. Nice change, as the old decks were getting stale to play.

These days, close to nothing but I want to nuance that. Giant Bomb has been a big part of my life for the last almost 10 years. If I could do a /played for this site, I'd probably be a bit shocked. I'm really thankful for those years and the concept that Giant Bomb at least helped create. But the fact remains this might be the first time I'm considering not renewing my sub. Maybe it's me, but they seem to have lost their interest, or maybe I have. The majority of the videos seem uninspired and uninteresting, to me and my preferences at least, not speaking for everyone. Frankly, if this is the direction they decide to go in, there's just better people for it on youtube as well as twitch. I don't want to be a downer so sorry about that, because I really do love this site and most of the people involved.
