He says he's 12 hours in but is constantly talking about how much crappy side stuff is everywhere, just do the main quest?
Shouldn't all the stuff be good though? I don't expect side quests to be as well written or designed as the main quest but they also shouldn't suck. There's many games where most people don't even play the main story because the side stuff is so interesting. I feel like that's a valid complaint.
"They make him the star of the Lego Movie, and the Lego Movie is about a character with literally no personality."
So what I'm hearing is that he's perfect for Mario? Like seriously, I know Mario is really popular but he's pretty bland as a character. Luigi is way more interesting because of the range of emotions he always has in his games. That's just my opinion of course but yeah.
@ephantmon: I think Dan perfectly represents the difference between ignorance and stupidity. He is silly and says lots of crazy stuff, but he's not stupid. He trusts science and happily accepts new ideas once he learns them. A stupid person actively refuses to learn new things.
I love this series! Great editing on this one, Jan.
@i_am_a_robot: Of course you'd think that, you "totally not a robot" person!
In seriousness, yeah I agree. They have baffling trust in massive corporations that want to make money. Vinny is right on the money with talking about phones and computers crashing and failing even though they're commercial products. Also their point about robots not making mistakes and humans doing it is bizarre considering that humans program the robots. There's still a human involved in the process, which means that there will still be mistakes. If anything, the presence of automation and tons of cars running on the same system is worse, because instead of one car messing up, every car on that system will mess up and that could turn from a few people getting hurt in one accident to a massive amount of people being hurt at the same time in a massive glitch accident.
I'm not sure how to feel that I related to Dan a whole lot throughout his Giant Bomb career, and now with this new show I'm relating even more. I also didn't know about the Ben Franklin key thing (but I didn't think it was stored in the key lol), and I also find the explanation of batteries confusing and weird. Yet at the same time, Dan still surprises me with the things that come out of his mouth and I love this series already! I won't spoil it, but the word Dan uses to describe static electricity is amazing and had me laughing so hard.
After playing Sunshine in the 3D compilation on Switch, I think Sunshine is the weakest Mario but honestly? All the Giant Bomb peeps other than Dan really suck at playing the game. It's not fair to call the game bad when they all suck at it really hard. I love the crew but man...they're really bad at it. Sunshine is still the weakest because of the blue coins and a looot of BS but I dunno, they maneuver like they just picked up a controller for the first time. It's weird. I think if they played Mario 64 they'd do just as poorly based on their gameplay here.
@thejhawk: Same here. Some of my favorite weird content is Jeff playing weird old games or all of the crew on The Hotspot talking about their history in the games industry and some bizarre stuff they've seen. I don't really think this show is for me but Grubsnax and Guilty Treasures are both great so I'm still on the train for now.
