The aspect of grinding that turned me off is the randomness of Dwarf Scroll drops. I spent days and days farming the mines for Dwarf Scroll II and after something like 5 drops of Scroll I and Scroll III each I gave up and just edited one into my save file.

If you look closely at the two groups of 3 panels, only one of them in each group is possible to solve.

The locations of the triangle puzzles (and the shape of the maze room) are explicitly shown to you early on in each run.

@bbalpert: the two pillars are the final part, the door opens once you finish both. you can do it!

also, you can fail them without them shutting off like the rest of the puzzles

@bbalpert: Those are a weird abstract clock that show how far through the music you are. They're mounted in a few places, including right over the record player; turn it on and watch them, it's pretty neat. I think these show that I had a good bit of time left, I had a really good run going, In the Hall of the Mountain King was just starting as I finished the maze.

The "leave the island" ending makes more sense if you listen to one of the audio logs inside the mountain (the one where they're discussing the ability to wipe memory)

@forcen: how about 4 - 4?

@forcen: think of yellow squares as 1 and blue as -1. if you have the same number of each in an area, what does the total tell you?
