"I just got the Rock Band Drum Silencers from Best Buy (also available from official RockBand.com store).  They significantly reduce the noise to the point that 1) my wife doesn't complain anymore and 2) I can actually hear the drums in the *game* for once.  It's $20 for the kit and the install takes under 5 minutes.

The only down-side is that, with them installed, you have to hit the pads quite a bit harder.  If you're a light hitter, this might be a problem for you.  I normally play on hard difficulty and didn't notice a difference in my scores compared to bare drum pads."

SOAD for me, a definate purchase.

I'll take a look in to the Cruefest tracks and see what their all about.

Also, agree that some more Offspring DLC tracks would be a great choice.

I started off just buying the game on it's own, using the GH3 Les Paul to complete the Guitar career mode.

The lure of the drums proved to be too strong and I caved in and bought the Instrument pack after about a week.

I probably enjoy playing the drums more than any of the other parts and it's still very challenging with a lot to learn (can't get past Hard yet).

If you treat it like Guitar Hero you'll burn through it in no time, it nowhere near as challenging as GH2 or 3 but it's a lot more fun.

Always wanted to play the drums but could never seem to get any good at it and Rock Band continues to punish me for my lousy co-ordination,
