My Personal Top 10 of 2010!

List items

  • Let me put it simply, Dynasty Warriors Is Dead. This game takes the brawler genre and flips it on its head. It's not quite character action like Bayonetta or DMC but it feels somewhere in the middle of DW and those. The amount of moves and little nuances within each character keep the game fresh. I don't care what the Gb crew says brawlers aren't dead!

  • Now, I'm not really a huge fan or GTA, but enough that I at least play each iteration. I was expecting, like everyone else, GTA with horses. I couldn't have been more wrong

  • An improvement in every way to the last PS:P game, this series will always hold a special place in my heart (long live PSO). The combat is a bit faster paced, the story mode more enjoyable to play through, the frame rate better for the most part, and the biggest addition is actual online play from the PSP. I look forward to the expansion ad what further improvements the series recieves.

  • This game I knew going in that it was going to be good. What I didn't expect was how good. While I'm a fan of MG/MGS, I wasn't thrilled with the Portable Ops series. This game took all that good and expanded upon that, namely the action sequences and boss fights, added solid multi player, and bam you have what is very near the best PSP game this year.

  • I'm so glad this game is as good as it is because if you'd have sat me down and told me what it was about without me seeing it I'd think you were batshit crazy. This game pushes the character action genre further in a direction that is nothing but good.

From the over the top soundtrack, to the ridiculous moves she pulls off, to the homages to Sega's older titles, this game is a blast from start to the end.

  • Being the huge fighting game fan that I am (although admittedly not as good as I could be) I found CS a breath of fresh air. The tutorial mode is a blessing and is the standard that should be followed for all fighting games. I also think the additional characters give the game move personality and flesh it out more making this a great update to last years surprise hit.

  • I was expecting this to be a shitty movie game cash in and boy was I wrong. From the intro screens to the "Winners Don't Eat Meat!" message I could tell this game was a labor of love. But, I had no idea what or who Scott Pilgrim was. This game is what a throwback should be, fun. The 8 bit music, the 4 player co-op, the bosses, all of it you'd swear came out 15-20 years ago. Reminds me that though games have come very far, that not all things of yesteryear should be forgotten.
