Godspeed Vinny, Alex, and Brad. I really can't say enough how much your work and GB has meant to me over the years. This site has been a core part of my life for years through a lot of ups and downs. Y'all will be missed terribly and I'm excited for you and whatever you do next!
To be fair, I think the funding/heat stuff was always a chore. In the original, I'd always cheat and give myself a ton of money so I didn't have to worry about managing that stuff. Let me focus on managing the base and not the overworld.
Thank you Alex, your thoughts about Spiritfarer are the finest and most touching words I've read on the site. I cried as I was reading it and I've cried to see how deeply the game touched you during the year. I really appreciate your sincerity and your thoughtfulness. I also want to thank you for your trucking and drumming streams this year, they've meant so much to a lot of us; a comforting touchstone in an absolute shambles of a year. Jan, as others have said, if you can beat Father G, you can beat this game. BB was my first souls game I really played having bounced off Demon's Souls fairly fast. It took me dozens of tries to beat Gascoigne and found the rest of the game easier though I still had plenty of difficulty spikes. Keep going, so many of us are having a blast watching you! And you inspired me to get back in, gracias hermano!
p.s. if I can make a suggestion, always be farming. Every run to Gascoigne can net you 8-10 blood vials and 4ish bullets (if you get the old man). It hones your skills (especially the stagger) and keeps you from having to interrupt your boss attempts to just farm. That always pulled me out of my flow :)
p.p.s. I've wondered this, any particular reason you don't play online? the notes people leave can be extremely useful/insightful/funny/poignant
Vinny saying "I finally get to eat with my family" brings up some feelings, lotta pathos in that statement. Thanks for the long hours Bombers, you bring a lot of joy into our lives!
