Like somebody explaining a drum solo on Genesis'AbacabI can't ever really care, but I love being in the moment of realizing that something creative I'd never give a second thought to has drawn intense passion out of someone else.
This is something that I‘d completely forgotten to mention, the fact that somebody’s pure enthusiasm for a subject that you personally care little about can draw you in regardless. I suppose this can be down to the person being able to describe the subject in a way that allows the clueless outsider to understand why the thing they’re describing is so incredible.
@mellotronrules: I had no idea that the Waypoint crew went on to do Remap Radio, thanks for introducing me to it. I should have known that you can’t keep good game critics away from podcasting.
@superslidetail: Luckily Nowhere is in the middle of the game, which is the best place for a bad section since you still have a great beginning and ending to surround it.
@av_gamer: I actually didn't mind the damage in Dragonball FighterZ, though I would agree that the matches could turn into endurance tests in that game. But it terms of damage for a one-on-one fighter, I think Street Fighter 5 strikes a better balance than Strive.
@therealturk: I know I was harsh on Bluepoint and I don't want to undersell the incredible work they have done on this remake. It's just that Demon's Souls had its own look and sound, even when compared to the Dark Souls trilogy, and that identity has been diminished somewhat.
@lapsariangiraff: To be honest, I was playing certain aspects up a little for comic effect. While Tingle is someone who expresses himself freely, he is an overly extreme example of it and not exactly a role model to base an epiphany on. I just thought it was interesting how I've come from detesting Tingle to sort of liking him in some warped kind of way as I've gotten older.
And thanks for the feedback, it's nice to get some constructive criticism now and then.
@sombre: I think Isao Takahata generally writes films that appeal to a more adult audience, especially compared to Hayao Miyazaki's work. Not saying that one is inherently better than the other, I just appreciate the differences in style.
@liquiddragon: Laputa is a very solid movie with Captain Dola coming in at a close 3rd in the best character list, and if I had a underrated category, Ocean Waves would certainly win. But I really struggled to get through My Neighbours the Yamadas, maybe I need to have kids to get its style of humour.
