The article on Pewdiepie completely misses the point. It's like saying, everyone that hates on Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus is just jealous of their success. No, most people are angry that such terrible people are given that much success. If you want to be overly offended about "Diversity" and such, Pewds is literally just shouting slurs and making rape jokes for "entertainment."

@video_game_king: I would say both composition and grammar were pretty substandard.

Reading way too into mechanics that are primarily used as throwaway jokes and trying to use them as an example of societal change is something that would impress no one outside of Tumblr.

No healthy relationship anywhere in the world works as an "open relationship" as the author is describing. It doesn't matter if you're straight, gay, or some other designation. Denying reality is unhealthy and not to be encouraged.

That more specific enough for you?

The blog on Saints Row and heteronormativity made me facepalm quite hard. First of all, it was written by someone who would fail High School writing. Second of all, most of the content was reading way into things that weren't even close to the intentions of the developer. Lastly, it comes off as extremely unhealthy when the author is talking about how great it is you can "romance" whoever you want and nothing matters to the other characters and then implies that's how real life should be. Overall, I struggle to understand why this was highlighted other than the wishful thinking of the title. I can't even sure Patrick read it before linking.

With all that negativity out the way, I really enjoyed the Jon Bois, Tim Colwill, and Richard Moss links.

The reaction to the Far Cry 4 cover saddens me. Guess what, it's a light skinned guy subverting the locals. Far Cry 3 was the exact same thing after a point in the story. No one had a problem with Hoyt, that I noticed, but this character we know nothing about and the scenario he is depicted in is too far?

Facebook has increasingly made changes to their service that are anti-consumer as well as layout revamps that are always heavily disliked (even after the newness wears off). I simply don't want that kind of company having any influence on the Rift as I see them becoming less and less relevant in the future.

Why is everyone blaming Ken for the studio closing? Has no one stopped to think that Irrational without Ken Levine and his top 15 isn't worth 2Ks money? I highly doubt the rest of the studio is capable of delivering AAA profits without their top people.

DOTA 2, rocking that 100% 1st spot rate (Kasavin, Muir, Shoemaker). Dota 2 is a jealous girlfriend that takes all your time and doesn't let you think of anyone else.

The "article" about using real names was terribly misinformed and poorly written. The cons of using real names vastly outweigh the pros and the comparison to real sports doesn't work. Would Korean Starcraft players be nearly as popular if non-Koreans had to memorize all their names (which to us seem very similar) or even vice versa for something like DOTA. Should Koreans have to memorize all the Western players just so they can follow the action? Meanwhile the players would be handicapping themselves in marketing and sponsorships.

In short, no one wins if online handles disappear entirely.

I love Valve and I'm sure this controller is functional but I don't see it taking off in terms of popularity. It is amazing to see them push the tech and try new things though. They've been quoted in tons of interviews saying they don't like current input schemes so I guess this is what they're trying.
