Games of the year, 2014
So, before I get started, I'd like to point out that I haven't had a chance to play Dragon Age: Inquisition, Far Cry 4, Alien: Isolation, all of which I'm sure I will love. In other words, take this with the grain of salt that is 'I don't have enough time to play everything.'
I would also like to point out a few honorable mentions:
- Diablo III: Reaper of Souls: This update improved the original game so drastically it felt like a new game. Moreover, when played on new consoles, this game is a staple for the loot fiend in everyone.
- Sportsfriends: BaraBariBall alone is amazing. Taken with the other games in this compendium, Sportsfriends is a must for anyone with a Playstation and a couple friends.
- Monument Valley: If there was any ever doubt that the iPad could be a viable, respectful platform for games, Monument Valley eliminates it.
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare: The best entry in the series in a long time. The change in movement alone is incredible and the remix of perks/loadout makes multiplayer deeper and more entertaining in the long run.
- Threes: I know people who hate games and they love this game (for good reason).
Sadly, this year was fairly lackluster in terms of new titles. I found myself going back to older releases for new content. And, that new content was amazing and kept me hooked more often than new releases.
