@ajamafalous: thanks for the feedback. These issues do seem sporadic to some degree. Just wish I could feel confident in my system and not have to “baby” it

Does anyone know or have any updates on whether the PS5 external storage and rest mode issues have been fixed? I’m scared to try them out for myself so just have been shutting down every time as opposed to rest mode. My PS4 games are on external hooked up to the PS4, but would like to bring them over if I’m not going to brick my system or have constant errors.

Not sure if everyone is having these bugs, but my ps5 enters and comes out of rest mode fine, but I eventually get weird crashes and such afterwards as well as the occasional “rebuilding database” message. The external drive causes similar issues. Any news would be great!

Thanks Ry_Ry, would be helpful. I can’t even get into the parental settings without an error; though did get an update today so maybe it’s fixed... haven’t been able to try it yet

Like many others, I’ve run into a few bugs in the ps5 os; though maybe not so many as some. I want to let my 8 year old play while I’m at work after he gets home from school, but want to limit his play time to 45 mins a day. Went into the parental control and immediately get an error every time. Anyone else getting this? Could anyone check just to confirm if this is a widespread bug or just my system? Cheers duders!

Thanks for the advice. None of the information on the network is really a target for anyone. So much so, that it’s almost comical to think of someone hacking in for a look. We don’t really have a permanent IT department, unfortunately. Thanks anyways guys/girls!

Hoping a technically familiar bomber can help me out. The WiFi internet connection at my work is MAC address restricted (I think). I have a company issued laptop that allows me to use their WiFi, but I have a lot of personal devices I like to use that make my job easier than the crappy ass laptop they provide. I want these other devices (iPads, other laptops, and smartphone so I don’t have to use my limited monthly data). So far, I have been sharing the WiFi internet signal from my company laptop through an Ethernet cable into my MacBook and then using the macbook’s WiFi sharing to share the signal to everything else. This works well, but it’s kind of a pain in the ass if I just need to hop on the iPad real quick for something, so I’m looking for an alternative method.

I can’t share the company laptop signal wirelessly because the WiFi card is already in use. I’m thinking I could get a cheap WiFi router, enable internet connection sharing of the WiFi signal via Ethernet, and plug the Ethernet into the WAN port on the router; effectively creating my own personal, permanent little hotspot. Will this work? Also, when I share the connection via Ethernet to my MacBook, the Mac has internet access even with the company laptop closed; a function I’d like to keep. Would a router keep sharing the connection in the same way?

Or perhaps there’s a better solution? Any ideas would be great, thanks! (I tried Buffalo WEX-1166 DHPS since it has an Ethernet port, but that seems to only be an input and can’t be used as an access point mode)

Anyone else experience this? Hitman worked fine on my PS4, but once I switched over to the pro, downloaded it and patched it, it won’t load. Crashes right on the first splash screen. Error code CEH-34874-0 I think. I’ve deleted it, reinstalled the game, everything is up to date. Anyone have a solution or workaround for this? Cheers all!

Thanks all very much! Great resource to have here for questions like this. Axersia, exactly the info I was looking for, thanks for the great detailed response. I think I may just wait and get a 3DS this Christmas on a trip home. Cheers!

Hey all, seems like the perfect place to ask this question. I live in Japan and have been thinking about picking up a Nintendo DS. I know the system is on its way out, but am sure there are a ton of great games to play on it by now and I think I can get one for fairly cheap. However, I'm American and want to play NA titles. Can I play NA titles on a Japanese DS? Also, there seem to be quite a few different versions of the DS now; which one would be the one to get? Can a Japanese DS be set to English for the system menus and such? Finally, are all titles available digitally so I wouldn't have to pay to import them? I'd much rather just use a digital store to purchase all the titles I want and save them to the Nintendo DS memory. If all of this is no good, can I get a NA DS and digitally purchase all my games from Japan?

Cheers all! I really know nothing about Nintendo these days, but thought it would be a fun toy for my son and I.

Is there any difference in the hdr capabilities of the pro and base model? Was reading something about the pro offering HDR 10 support while everything I read on the base PS4 just listed HDR support.

On a side note, I'm really considering picking one of these up. I have a 4K LG television. Those of you who own the pro, are you happy with your purchase? Is the difference noticeable? And how many instances of the PS4 PRO performing worse than the baseline model have you run into? Thanks all!
